As there is further expansion of COVID-19 with it comes some uncertainty. As a result, our events and fundraising are changing or adapting
and we will monitor the evolving situation carefully. Above all, we hope for the best for you, your family and friends good physical and emotional health.
We are reviewing our programs and services daily to see how we can best meet the needs and challenges associated with COVID-19.
We are connecting with other funders to review and adapt where appropriate.We are helping where and when we can while we are working quickly and writing to you because this is important.
Your help is needed now more than ever to serve residents, workers, and families.

Good News - Libraries Receive Grants
$162,000 to 21 Libraries
2020 Library Grant Cycle recently granted $162,000 from the
Bernard and Shirley Rosen Fund
and from additional
Community Foundation funds
, to promote intellectual curiosity and a lifelong love of reading and learning by encouraging youth to develop habits of regular library use. Awardees are public libraries in Cayuga, Cortland, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins counties representing the
Finger Lakes Library System
.

Happy Ending Note
A grant to a daycare center
makes a difference!
We love getting notes. The one above from a 2nd grader in the Downtown Ithaca Children's Center (DICC) school program, brings joy to our day.
The DICC and the Sciencenter work with their education team to find new ways to engage kids. They have been hugely successful! For example, older kids in the after school program have been trained to handle the animals and are becoming animal ambassadors, taking the animals out for visitor interaction.
Alli Sribarra, Director of Development, says of the impact of the Community Foundation grant, "The kids take so much pride in this role! It is great to walk through the museum on days that the DICC after school kids are here and see them taking an active part in our space."
We hope Madeline's and Alli's note brightens your day like it did ours!
Though both organizations are now temporarily closed to the public due COVID-19 concerns, we all look forward to the day when these two and so many other cultural treasures are able to re-open and build community.
