Chairman's Corner
Hello Eaglebrook Family:

This week let’s highlight the part of the mission statement that talks about Impact. “The people of Eaglebrook will have significant Impact locally through outreach and globally through missions support and participation.” You may not be aware of them, but there is a small group of church members who meet several times a year to manage Eaglebrook’s mission and outreach work. We impact some local missions (like Fort Wilderness and the Lakeland Pantry) through financial and staffing support. If you go to the Pantry on either their Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon distributions, you will see several familiar Eaglebrook faces there helping out. We can also see the impact of the Missions Committee around the globe. Eaglebrook financially supports missions in many far away places also (like Okinawa, Russia and Haiti to name a few). The committee oversees the distribution of funds to these missionaries. We strive to make Eaglebrook a tithing church and our outreach giving has reflected that in the last couple of years. Led by Pastor Arnie, we keep in touch with the missionaries and their families through their newsletters and emails. At our meetings we review the newsletters and the status of the personnel as they work through the many transitions that mission life brings. The Missions Committee is a quiet but dedicated group of members who love to do the “works” that James talks about and that Steve is leading us through in our current sermon series. If you would like to know more about this Impact Team, please ask Pastor Arnie or Ray or any Elder Board member.

Peace and Blessings

Scripture of the Week
Matthew 15:8 (NIV) -- "These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me."

Words... from a new heart. A new heart... that knows where to go for wisdom... from God. A new hear that knows how to walk in that wisdom.

That ties where we were last week to where we are going this week at the end of James chapter 3.

And wisdom seems to be a fitting topic for Mother's Day. So, whether online... or in person, we look forward to connecting with you this Sunday.

I love being your pastor!
Steve
