Introducing Rosie, Rowdy and Curley our Move It Mascots... Bring along your furry friend this month and remember to follow the Physical Activity Guidelines by getting your daily dose of activity!

Move It May!

She Rides


She Rides is an introductory cycling program focused on fitness, skills development and creating a social riding community of women, with the aim to help make riding part of their everyday life!


Come along and join us for a 4-week program led by an accredited AusCycling coach and increase your confidence and skill amongst a friendly community of riders! Afterwards, join us for a coffee and chat.


Sessions will be held across the Cities of Marion, Mitcham and Holdfast Bay cycling trails.


*Please note that you are required to bring your own bike and helmet


When: Every Wednesday 10am between 11 May – 1 June


Upon booking, please note that there is an expectation that you attend all four sessions


Starting locations:

Week 1: Glandore Community Centre Reserve.

Week 2: Glandore Community Centre Reserve

Week 3: Warradale Park Reserve

Week 4: Belair National Park

Discovery Walks:


Join us this May and discover even more locations and hidden gems around the Cities of Marion, Mitcham and Holdfast Bay.


Walking is a great way to immerse yourself in nature and Move It towards a more active lifestyle. All walks are led by a walking guide and accompanied by guest 'experts' who will educate the group along the walk (on topics such as biodiversity, the environment, local culture and history).


All ages are welcome - come with a friend or fly solo and connect with a fun and friendly walking community! Keep scrolling for dates, locations and times of our May Discovery Walks...

Walk 1: Coastal Walk

Our third coastal walk starts where we left off, the Seacliff Surf Life Saving Club! Venture up towards Marino Rocks and take a break at the new Marino Rocks Community Cafe before returning to home base!

Walk 2: Sturt River Marion


Starting where we left off at Oaklands Wetlands! This walk continues north along the Sturt River to Willoughby Avenue (4.8km return). 



When: Tuesday 17 May 10am

Where: Oakland's Wetland Reserve (car park by skate park)

Walk 3: Shepherds Hill Recreation Park


Join us at Mitcham Councils Shepherds Hill Recreation Park and explore part of the majestic 77 hectares of park following along a creek and grassy woodland (approx. 5km undulating path).

When: Thursday 24 May 10am

Where: Meet at car park off of Ayliffes Road, St Marys

PT by the Sea!


Beat the cold weather and join us this May at our new location - Glenelg Community Centre!

Led by a local fitness instructor, this program is ideal for:

  • Those us of sitting for long periods at work, studying or gaming!
  • People of all fitness levels and abilities – even first timers.
  • Anyone wanting to improve their fitness levels and health
  • Those wanting to reduce daily pain and discomfort.


All ages welcome.

Bring along a friend, family, partner, your kids or fly solo and get your daily dose of physical activity! Numbers limited so book in fast!


When: Every Monday throughout May, 6 - 6:45pm

Where: Glenelg Community Centre, 4 Colley Terrace, Glenelg SA

Outdoor Fitness For Over 50s

 

Its not too late to join us! Start your week off right with our Outdoor Fitness for Over 50s...

Run by a fully qualified fitness instructor who specialises in exercise for adults, this class is suitable for people of a range of abilities!


When: Continuing weekly Mondays until 16 May

Tai Chi Amongst the Trees !

 

We have now moved indoors! Dodge the wet weather and join us at our new locations this May!



Tai Chi is an ancient marital art originating from China. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner, accompanied by deep breathing. Tai Chi is a great way to Move It as the mind-body practice promotes a range of health benefits! Whether you're aiming to improve your physical health through flexibility, balance and strength or wanting to take time out for your mental health and feel less stress and anxiety, this class is perfect for you!
