A Message from the ISTAT President
Firstly, I hope that you, your family, friends and colleagues are safe, healthy and well. Since we discussed the emergence of COVID-19 at ISTAT Americas, it has now become a pandemic. The speed at which the disease has spread has given us a great deal of concern over our loved ones' well-being. We are learning to understand the meaning of social distancing, communicating from makeshift home offices, dealing with screaming kids while we are on conference calls and general mayhem to what we thought was our daily routine. ISTAT Award Presented to Adam Pilarski
Congratulations to the 2020 ISTAT Award winner, Adam Pilarski, Ph.D, of AVITAS Inc. Adam was presented with the award at the President's Gala Dinner during ISTAT Americas on 3 March. New ISTAT Board Directors Announced
Earlier this month at ISTAT Americas, two new board members were elected to the ISTAT Board of Directors. We would like to thank all candidates who ran in this year's election and congratulate our new members: Sarah Aoun of Airbus and Peter Negline of BOC Aviation Limited. ISTAT would also like to share a heartfelt thank you to the following board members whose terms expired: Jep Thornton of Aerolease Aviation LLC and Richard Owen Walker of Airbus.

ISTAT Americas Sustainability Efforts
ISTAT's increased focus on being more environmentally conscious kicked off at ISTAT Americas. A variety of
actions were taken in Austin with positive outcomes. Most notably, we were pleased to donate food to the hotel’s partner Angel House Soup Kitchen, and event lanyards and badge holders were collected at the end of the event to be recycled or reused.

The ISTAT Foundation offers grant funding to nonprofit
organizations around the globe that advance commercial aviation. Applications for the 2020 ISTAT Foundation Grants Program are now open. The application deadline is 1 May.

Is Your Company Looking for Qualified Interns?
The ISTAT Foundation Internship Portal is open for ISTAT members to post 2020 summer internships and graduate placements. We encourage companies to post open positions on the portal as soon as possible to ensure interest from the best candidates.
The ISTAT Foundation’s Internship Program acts as an intermediary between ISTAT member companies and students seeking aviation internships. Through the use of a web portal, qualified students and employers are able to match the right skills, background and interests with corporate internships. Placed interns who qualify will receive a stipend from the ISTAT Foundation to cover qualified housing and travel expenses of up to $2,500.

IAP Business Meeting and Con-Ed
The IAP held its Business Meeting & Continuing Education session in conjunction with ISTAT Americas. The session was well attended, and topics discussed included USPAP, ESG and how ratings agencies utilize appraisal services.
ISTAT Certified Senior Appraiser Rikard deJounge’s contributions to the IAP were recognized with the granting of the honorary title of Fellow. With Rikard stepping down from his role as a member of the IBG Exams Committee, ISTAT Certified Senior Appraiser Kara Levine was elected to replace him. Mark Pearman-Wright was selected as a Non-Appraiser member of the IBG and David Berkowitz was selected for another two-year term.
Certification exams were held immediately prior to ISTAT Americas. Two ISTAT Certified Appraisers sat for the exam to become Senior Appraisers, and eight Appraiser Candidates sat for exams to become Appraisers.
