We've been thinking...
About what a huge success GIFTS OF GOODNESS holiday basket bundles were!

More than 40 Members were involved in this 1st time initiative led by Andrea Watson of Nature Knows, with over 220 sold and 10% of proceeds going to support community partner Building Roots of Toronto.

We're proud of how Members have really risen during this time, taking initiative and challenging themselves to adapt, and demonstrate leadership in new ways to support their communities.

We're also thrilled our campaign both through social and traditional media has generated thousands of brand impressions and some Members have enjoyed new business opportunities as a result.

So far, customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and although there are areas we can improve upon, let's do this again soon, shall we?

"What a lovely lovely treat! The Canadian Women in Food gift box is spectacular! Very very kind of you! Can’t wait to order some of these for gifts in the future - truly is fantastic!" Susan - Toronto

In 2020 did we measure up?
Let's remember it was in early March when we hosted the sold out TURN UP The Heat charity dinner featuring five female chefs and in celebration of International Women's Week.

Then after the world changed shortly thereafter, it was in April when Saskia Brussaard of Crave Consulting + Communications prepared us for "Crisis Communications Planning".

Given the gravity of what was unfolding around the world it wasn't any surprise how we then sought out the lighter side of social distancing with Virtual VINO nights and our early Zoom calls.

"It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get back up." - Vince Lombardi

In May we found our footing again as Jane Gaynor of Gain Your Edge Coaching helped us with "Finding Your New unNormal".

Also in May, we embraced pivoting seriously and created an online SHOP as a way to bring attention to Members with products. Soon after a revamped RECIPE program was launched to support Members with services.

In June we launched Monday Morning Manager, a weekly drop in Zoom call with guest appearances by subject matter experts and a safe space for Members to share tips, tricks, opportunities, and invite guests to experience what Canadian Women In Food are all about.

In July we celebrated our Francophone Members by establishing Femmes Canadiennes dans l'Alimentation. Together with the three Presidents, Francoise Briet of Malty & Hoppy Delicacy, Sandra Lefebvre of La Briochine, and Sophie Mendes we want to strengthen the voices of all French-speaking female-identifying individuals working in food, and to promote a more inclusive space by creating opportunities for economic and professional growth.

In August we welcomed new incoming Ontario East Chapter President Sarah Farmer of Chef Sarah Farmer Photography as outgoing President Mandi Lunan of Mandi Lunan Food Business Coach made a move for the West Coast and Beautiful British Columbia.

In October we recognized Andrea Watson for her outstanding and ongoing contributions to Canadian Women In Food as your National Brand Ambassador!

And finally in November we launched our most ambitious project to date with GIFTS OF GOODNESS!

What then will life look like when we are "beyond the curve"?

We've begun the process to plan for 2021 and we need input from Members like you to tell us what's working, what's not working, what we need to do more of, and what else you would like to see.

We would like to see more chapters, more local programs, and more opportunities for like-mind female and female identifying food entrepreneurs to connect, build, and grow.

We hope you'll continue on this journey with us into the New Year!
