REGISTRATION FOR SUNDAY EUCHARIST: Masses are offered on Sundays at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM in The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount (1486 Richmond Street). If you are coming to Mass, it is essential that you register only those that are attending either online or by phone. If you learn at the last minute that you cannot come, please go online and cancel your reservation, so that space can become available for others who would like to attend. For further information please contact Maija Wilson.
To cancel your reservation, open the web browser of the Eventbrite page (not the mobile app), go to your order, select "cancel order" (next to your order details), then choose "yes, cancel this order." If you want to cancel a single ticket in your order, contact our office.
DAILY MASS takes place in Christ the King Chapel in Wemple Building on Wednesdays and Fridays at 12 noon. Seating is extremely limited. Pre-registration is required by contacting Lisa Caeiro or 519-963-1477. Note that first priority will be given to King’s students and employees. Those who are not from the university community are welcome to register and must be prepared to show proof of vaccination upon arrival. If you are confirmed as an attendee, you will receive and email indicating so.

Updated COVID Protocols
For Mass Attendance
|
|
VACCINATION REQUIRED: Please be advised that it is now expected that those 12-years-old and older who are attending Mass at Christ the King University Parish be fully vaccinated. This is in alignment with King's University College's vaccine policy which we must follow.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a vaccinated adult.
Physical distancing protocols remain in effect.
NEW PROCEDURE: You will now be asked to provide an individual name, e-mail address and vaccination status for each person in your household who will be attending.
To help our parish adhere to the current capacity limit and to aid in potential contact tracing, you are kindly asked to register for only those Masses that you are planning on attending.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue our efforts to keep our community healthy and safe.

A Primer on Posture During Mass
|
|
Genuflection and Bowing
A genuflection is the action of bending down on one knee. This practice bears a long history as a sign of reverence toward the Blessed Sacrament. Historically, the genuflection was offered toward an emperor or persons of high ranking order, and thus was adopted into the church’s liturgy as a sign of great honour and reverence for Christ sacramentally present among us. A genuflection is dependent on the placement of the tabernacle in a church. When the tabernacle is placed within the worship space, we genuflect toward it.
In “The Chapel: at Windermere, there is no tabernacle. In this space, a bow toward the altar is what is required. We bow because the altar is a symbol of Christ among us. The Rite of Dedication of an Altar (#4) says it this way: “Because it is at the altar that the memorial of the Lord is celebrated and his body and blood given to the people, the church’s writers see in the altar a sign of Christ himself—hence they affirm: ‘The altar is Christ.’”
The Eucharistic Prayer
The common posture for the Eucharistic Prayer in the Diocese of London is to kneel. In our community, where we have two worship spaces, one without kneelers, we have discerned the need to stand. This is the practice that the university community has observed for over 40 years. It creates a sense of unity between our spaces and with the community as a whole. During the institution narrative, often called the consecration, members of the community should bow as the elements of bread and wine are elevated. Rest assured, that if you feel called to kneel during the Eucharistic Prayer, no one will centre you out or ask you to stand.
