“The end to the pandemic, for me, would be to resume daily Mass with the Sisters. The ‘new light’ would be
to, once again, receive
daily Eucharist.”
— Janice Briggs (Associate)
“Challenges are gifts that force us to search for a new center of gravity. Don't fight them. Just find a new way to stand.”
— Oprah Winfrey
Weathering the Storm
A mother gardenia nurtured by Sisters Jo Goolish and Yolanda Escamilla in San Antonio was lost to the winter blast in Texas in February. However, a baby plant they started last year recently produced its first blossom (shown above). Sister Jo believes it offers a humble lesson about new life. “All is not lost,” she says. “The next generation carries on the beauty of the world.” To read about how our Sisters endured the historic Texas storm or to learn how you, too, can rediscover joy amid life’s challenges, click the buttons below.
Ode to St. Ann’s
Travel back in time to the 1950s in Farrell, Pa., where our Sisters made an indelible impact on a grade school class that, 69 years later, remains connected to us and each other.

Were you taught by our Sisters at St. Ann’s or at another Catholic grade school? We’d love to hear from you! Update us on your whereabouts and share your Then & Now Sister Story through our Alumnae Portal.
Sisters Beena Jose, Gracy Kundukulam, Karen Buco, Norberta Kralosky and Roselyn Kuzma giggle their way through a team-building exercise in 2018.
In Celebration of Laughter
Did you know that International Moment of Laughter Day is celebrated on April 14? We’re running a few days behind but it’s worth the wait, as Sister Georgette Dublino transports us back some 75 years to a very special moment of laughter she experienced as young girl. She hopes it brings you some joy today. After all, laughter — and prayer — are not only free, they’re the best medicines of all.
A Quick Giggle
