Presentations on Doctoral Research Featured
The sixth annual Navajo Education Conference will take place at the Navajo Nation Museum in Window Rock, Ariz., on Thursday, July 28, 2022, from 8:00 am to 1:15 pm, and Friday, July 29, 2022, from 8 am to 2 pm.
The free, two-day conference will feature presentations by Doctoral alumni of Fielding Graduate University on several topics including: The Transformative Influence of Stories in the Lives of Navajo Women: A Narrative Inquiry, Enhancing Navajo Culturally Relevant Education for Head Start Children, and Navajo Female Leaders: Weaving Together Their Experiences, Culture and Community.
The conference also will feature addresses by Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez, Navajo Nation Superintendent of Schools Harold Begay, PhD., and Ms. Rose Graham, Director of the Office of Navajo Nation Scholarship & Financial Assistance. Leader of the Misak Indigenous people of Columbia, Gerado Tunubalá will provide a presentation on the Educational Tapestry of the Misak People of Colombia. Other presentations featured include An Intergenerational Journey Preserving the Navajo Language by Dr. Miranda Haskie and Healing Empowerment Through the Language Lineage Tree by Ms. Barsine Barney Benally.
