FEBRUARY 2021 NEWSLETTER
A NOTE FROM BRYAN
Already it’s February and great things keep happening at Elevate Branson thanks to your help, support, encouragement, and prayers. Our vision, mission and team are in sync and stronger than ever. We’re moving full steam ahead with the programs and services that we know have an impact. We’re reaching more of our neighbors, collaborating with more community partners, and elevating Branson every day. Thank you for making this ministry possible.

MEET JENNY CARPENTER
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
Jenny and her husband, Ben, moved to Branson from Kirksville, MO in July of 2020. He is the Feed Mill and Hog Farm Manager at College of the Ozarks. Jenny had volunteered here when she was a College of the Ozarks student and always thought if she ever lived in Branson, “JWH, now Elevate, was where I would want to spend my time.” Now she says, “I am thankful and truly lucky to work with such a strong team of individuals… we all work to be the best at what we do and pull equal parts of the weight for the team.”
OUR "GENTLE GIANT" IS A STAR!
You met Theo, our new therapy dog, in the January newsletter. Since then he’s been a bit of a sensation on social media, KY3 and in the Tri-Lakes Daily News. Besides being a calm and comforting presence on campus every weekday, Theo is helping to tell our story. As you can see via the links above, coverage on Theo also includes information about Elevate Branson programs and services, plus the impact we’re having in our community. Good boy, Theo, good boy!
COMPUTER SKILLS ARE ESSENTIAL
Elevate Branson now offers computer training and the opportunity to earn a Digital Literacy Certificate. The next session starts on February 8 and EVERYONE IS WELCOME. If you or someone you know suffers from a bit of “digital fright,” (similar to stage fright but induced by the hum and lit screen of a computer) this class is a great way to join the computer age with confidence. For more information contact Donna McConkey at 417-335-9915 #4.
INCOME TAX IS HARD; WE CAN HELP
The Missouri Extension Office offers free tax preparation thru Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA).

Every Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. through April 14, taxpayers who earn $57,000 or less can get help at Elevate Branson.

Appointments are required and can be secured by calling 417-357-6812.
SAME GREAT COFFEE. SAME GREAT CAUSE.
Our on-campus java joint will return on February 11 with a brand-new name: Coffee Creations. But only the name has changed. You can still enjoy a hot, fresh cup of locally roasted, specialty coffee with a sweet or savory Kolache. The organization supports adults with special needs, prepares them for jobs, and provides a sense of self-worth. Please help us support these “special blends made by special hands.”
