2 ONLINE Events this Week!
Note: Corrected Date for ILWA Meeting
Join us Wednesday, April 22nd for the Worcester Cyanobacteria Monitoring Collaborative ONLINE Information & Training Session

Find out how you can help Worcester's waterways and learn about the organisms that live in just a tiny drop of water! The WCMC relies on volunteers to collect water samples and bring it to the beautiful Blackstone Heritage Corridor Visitors Center to examine it under the microscope. It may sound intimidating but it's really not. We work right alongside our Lake & Pond Division experts who are there to guide and assist.

Please consider participating in the WEBEX 'VIRTUAL' information and training session this Wednesday, April 22nd at 5:45pm.

To register, please email Jacquelyn Burmeister at [email protected] or signup on the Worcester DPW&P Facebook page WCMC Event Link

Please see detailed flyer below.

Seasoned Anglers and Fishing Enthusiasts... We need your help!

The City of Worcester Lakes and Ponds Division, with support from local watershed partners, is focused on identifying water quality challenges that are directly impacting local fisheries.

As part of this effort, it's important to gather as much local knowledge as possible so that management solutions can be evaluated.

We have developed an Angler Survey which will be available through May 1, 2020 for you to share your experiences fishing Worcester's waterways. Fishing enthusiasts of all levels are encouraged to participate in the survey which incorporates a mix of multiple choice and open ended opportunities for input and suggestions. Please complete the survey and encourage others to participate.

Thank you in advance for helping us continue to protect, preserve and improve our waterways!

The project entered the planning phase in conjunction with the City of Worcester and affected property owners about 5 years ago. The initial stages will be focused on moving utilities.

Project completion is currently estimated as November 2020.
