Parashat Tetzaveh
We continue with the theme that defines most of the rest of the Book of Exodus: the construction and institution of the Mishkan, the portable sanctuary that was the place of worship for the Israelites, and the House of God among the people, during the years of wandering in the midbar, the wilderness. Parashat Tetzaveh specifically focuses on the Cohanim, the Priests who perform the rituals and sacrifices on behalf of the people. Great detailed descriptions are given of the complex ritual garments of the Cohein Gadol, the High Priest, who was regally resplendent in gold and adornments of precious stones. Details are also given for the seven day period of sacrifices and rituals required to consecrate the priests for service. The Parashah ends with a short description of the golden altar upon which incense was offered, and how it, too, is to be consecrated.

Greeters Needed
Greeters play a vital role in welcoming every person who comes into TBE. We’re looking for volunteers to be greeters at one service each month.

As a greeter, you provide a warm smile and a friendly welcome to all, as well as help our guests form their first impression of our congregation. For those already attending services, come a few minutes early to open up, and secure the temple at the end of services. For information contact Jill Hyman, Synagogue Manager, at (757) 220-1205 or at office@tbewilliamsburg.org.
Social Action Book Drive
Please consider donating gently used children's books for toddlers to teens, for the Pediatric Unit at Sentara Regional Hospital. A donation box is located in the lobby of TBE. For more information, contact Elliott Wolin at ewolin@gmail.com.
From the Safety and Security Committee
The Safety and Security Committee and Rabbi David are working closely with the UJC and the Secure Community Network to evaluate TBE's security needs and priorities. Based on their recommendations, we will continue to improve security, including better outside lighting, new locks, an updated alarm and security camera system, and strengthening our doors and windows. A police presence at some TBE functions will continue.

Thanks to a generous donation, we are in the process of getting Automated External Defibrillators in case of heart attack. We have also added two professional first aid kits in the event of emergencies. If you would like to make a donation of any size to help ensure that TBE remains a safe, secure, and welcoming place for Jewish life here in Williamsburg, please be in touch. And, please contact me at ewolin@gmail.com if you have any questions. Elliott Wolin, Chair, TBE Safety & Security Committee
