Your Community Brief from Tangelo Park Elementary School
Together We Achieve the Extraordinary!

Monday, April 20, 2020

Last week was another AMAZING week! The support of families and community members help create exciting and diverse pathways to lead our Tiger Scholars to success. Tangelo Park Elementary experienced some positive encounters this past week, because of the patience and kindness you shared . . .

"Together We Can! One Team, One Goal!"

As you most likely know by now, Governor DeSantis announced this past Saturday, April 18th that Distance Learning will continue throughout the reminder of the school year. Please be sure to encourage and ensure that your student(s) are completing weekly assignments and returning them to their teachers each Friday.

We are almost mid-way the 4th nine weeks and Progress Reports will be mailed to parents and students the week of May 4th. Please contact your child's teacher with any questions - teacher emails

"We Appreciate Our Parents & Guardians!"

It is because of your reassuring efforts and the partnership we have established, our Tiger Scholars are continuing to grow and learn throughout these unprecedented times. Thank you for being you!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Lakeitha Black. M.S.Ed.

National Teacher Appreciation Week is Only Two Weeks Away!
May 4 to May 9

Tiger Family,

Please be certain to let your teacher(s) know how much you appreciate them. They, like our families, have been doing their very best to navigate through this distance learning format during this last quarter of 2019-2020. Plus, they gave our Tiger Scholars their very best efforts while in their regular classrooms during the first three quarters of the school year.

The words "Thank You" mean a great deal; an email or a thank you card would be wonderful.

Monday's Motivational Moment!

FAME ISN'T WORTH A FLEA

Walt Disney was once asked, "How does it feel to be a celebrity?" This was his answer:

"It feels fine when it helps to get a good seat for a football game. But it never helped me to make a good film, or a good shot in a polo game, or get the obedience of my daughter. It doesn't even seem to keep the fleas off our dogs - and if being a celebrity won't give one an advantage over a couple of fleas, then I guess there can't be much being a celebrity after all."

Don't confuse fame with success.
Jay-Z is one, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is the other.

Stay well Tigers and please remember to follow all health safety precautions this week. We miss you!
