Dear Friends,

Westchester Institute for Human Development (WIHD) is a critical source of health care, social services, information and education for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, vulnerable children and their families. We provide critical primary and specialty health care to over 5000 adults with disabilities; training and information to thousands of families, professionals, and students; and child welfare services to over 450 children each year.

As news about the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve please know the safety, security and well-being of our clients and staff remain our primary concern. WIHD has been closely monitoring the Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control for updates and guidance. While navigating this unprecedented situation, we remain committed to our mission of providing services to those who rely on us for their care.

Our goal is to maintain our services as long as we can safely and reasonably do so. Some temporary measures we have put in place include:

  • Deploying telehealth to continue clinical services for vulnerable individuals and families.
  • Essential support services are continuing via phone and video-conference
  • All WIHD employees except essential direct service staff are working remotely.
  • Reminding our clients and staff to follow precautionary health measures.

WIHD is fully committed to supporting our clients and staff during this challenging time. Visit our website at: http://www.wihd.org/ for additional information. Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,
Susan W. Fox, President & CEO
