Recap of March:

  • 2nd Trimester Report Cards were distributed.
  • Students attended and participated in Stations of the Cross at school.
  • Marian High School visited our school for a Pep Rally. The students and staff enjoyed the fun, spirited event!
  • Grades PreK-2 started off the month with a fun visit from Emily Pilla, an author and a St. Jerome graduate. Emily presented her book “The Life of a Weenie Wonder” featuring her dachshund, Skipper. This sweet book taught us a very important lesson about overcoming obstacles. We also got a chance to meet the real Skipper. The children loved him!
  • The Spring Scholastic Book Fair was held March 2nd-6th.
  • Supporters of the Because We Are Catholic Annual Appeal gathered together on March 9th at Saint Jerome Regional School to Kickoff The 2020 Annual Appeal in Schuylkill and Carbon Counties. SJRS Student Ambassadors welcomed everyone to our school for the event. We are so thankful to Bishop Schlert for visiting our school! Pictures below and the link from the event is located here.
SJRS has been utilizing Dreambox K-8 Online Math Program in the classroom for the past two years. This is a great tool for our students, especially while they are at home!

We are fortunate that our reading series is available online for students to use. The textbook link is available on your teacher's webpage for grades K-6!

Wednesday, March 25th we asked you to show us how active you are at home! Mrs. Beers is staying active by chasing her little one around!

It’s great to see all the awesome activities our students are doing! Keep up the good work, and keep up that heartbeat!

Easter Sunday Prayer

O Lord,
How amazing is your love,
A love that overcomes, endures and redeems.
How astounding is your life,
A life that sustains, heals and creates.
How awesome is your hope,
A hope that promises, restores and inspires.
How absorbing is your truth,
A truth that releases, changes and rebuilds.
How we worship you, as we remember the moment
when your love conquered.
When out of the cave of sorrow Jesus arose
to release forgiveness to the world.
And each time we encounter this resurrection day
we are again lifted to an eternal place.
Our sin, brokenness and darkness fall away and
your light and peace flood our lives.
How we thank you for this incredible celebration we call Easter.

 AMEN.

Let us pray for:

Our school family

The health and safety of everyone around the world, especially during this pandemic.

Someone battling cancer

All of our supporting parishes

Your continued prayers, support, cooperation and dedication to Catholic education.

Your continued kind words toward each other.

Our community and neighbors.

Our Home & School Association officers and members, our lunch aides, teacher aides, those who work at our fundraisers, the cooks and bakers and those who support our school in any way. Your dedication and sacrifices, commitment and sharing of your time, talent and resources is a source of inspiration to us. We thank God for the gift of each one of you and we ask Him to continue to bless you and your efforts as you help to make SJRS – simply the best.
This is a special place because you are special people.
