Kavvanah of the Week
This year we are exploring kavvanot - short orientations or intentions that reflect the part of ourselves that we bring to a particular moment.

Kavvanot can be used for moments and actions of any size and significance.

For the end of Hanukkah:
Little lamp of mine
it is time to say goodbye again
just for a year.

First let me take you from the window
where you have shared your light
so bravely and brightly
for all eight days.

Let me clean you -
your branches bloom with wax
and fragments of wick
that hang
like the Spanish moss
on the oak trees in the park.

Let me polish you
so that when your time comes again
you are ready to shine.

And let me carry in my heart
the imprint of you;
may the memory of you remind me
that it it takes only one flame
to dance with darkness.
