5K-4th Grade Chromebook Pick Up on Monday
|
|
Additional Chromebooks have been purchased and collected from existing classroom carts. The Chromebooks were prepped and cleaned by our Tech Department this week. These Chromebooks are being distributed to students in grade 5K-4th grade.
Here
are the details for Monday, March 30th Chromebook pickup for those grades only. During the Chromebook distribution, we will also have collections for Family Sharing Food Pantry. When families of 5K-4th graders pick up their Chromebooks on Monday, they’ll notice the unique packaging, a Piggly Wiggly bag. We are fortunate and grateful to have a partner in
Olsen’s Piggly Wiggly
. We will also have a Family Sharing collection on Tuesday for families with children in grades 5-12. Details below.

During this unusual time, we must not only tend to our families, but also extend ourselves to support those that may need extra assistance. We are pleased to have Family Sharing as a community asset. Join us in partnering with Family Sharing to collect food items on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

Information regarding the virtual learning plans that teachers have created will be coming to you through an email that you will receive this Saturday from your child’s principal. The email will include specific information regarding the virtual plans for the week of March 30th and other important information regarding virtual learning.
|
|
Parents of elementary students are advised to take some time to review the lesson links provided by your child’s teacher. These links will be provided to you tomorrow, via your principal’s email. This will give you a sense of how each virtual learning day has been structured, and when you will want to provide some side-by-side support, or ask some follow-up questions about their learning for the day.
|
|
Teachers and staff will be available virtually to answer questions and provide assistance as needed. Don't hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. Please know that they are here to support you. This will truly be a team effort as we navigate this new continued learning opportunity for our students.

Serving Meals to Our School Community

At this time, the Cedarburg School District in partnership with Aramark continues to provide meals for any family in need during this health crisis. With approval from both the State and Federal Governments, this type of meal service is still considered a safe and essential need for all school communities.
The Cedarburg School District is closely following all CDC recommended guidelines to help keep our food service employees safe along with the community members that we serve. Our food service employees continue to practice safe social distancing, frequent hand washing, and have increased the frequency of sanitizing food contact surfaces. In addition, we have limited our meal service to grab and go style, use only disposable food containers, and have moved to a completely touchless/contactless service by incorporating the CDC recommended social distancing of 6 feet in which we follow when serving meals to our families in need. Lastly, we have implemented a pandemic plan mandating that any Aramark associate exhibiting symptoms of fever, shortness of breath, breathing difficulties and/or persistent coughing or sneezing is not allowed to work. Moreover, our associates have also been advised that they cannot report to work if they've come into contact with an individual that tests positive for COVID-19 or if he or she has recently traveled to a country or community with a significant number of COVID-19 cases.
The Cedarburg School District continues to keep the health of our food service employees, staff and the families in which we serve a high priority, and one that we take very seriously.

Grab n Go Breakfast/Lunch Dates are Changing

Due to the current COVID-19 situation evolving Aramark's highest priority is to provide a safe environment for all of our community members. We will be changing when we will be open. We will be open
Monday March 30th and Tuesday March 31st
at our normal time.
- Beginning April 1st, we will only be open every Wednesday from 10am-12pm.
- Pickup Location: Cedarburg High School- South Entrance
Although we are cutting down the number of days we are open, it's important to know that
5 days worth of food to each individual who stops by on Wednesdays will be provided

Navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic is a challenge for all of us. As a school district, and as a community, we all need to take an active role in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Maintaining social distancing, avoiding all non-essential travel, and staying home as much as possible is not something that comes easily to us.
|
|
|
Parents, we need your support. Please keep your children home. This is so very important for not only for our community, but also for our nation. The number of COVID-19 cases are rising every day and one of the easiest ways we can help slow the rate of infection is by minimizing our interactions with others.
Please help us in this response by staying home with your families, limiting your interactions with others, and maintaining a social distance of 6 feet when going outside for much needed exercise and fresh air. Our health, the health of our loved ones, and those at increased risk in the community will all benefit.

For those interested in volunteering their time during this time of crisis, please note that the following organizations are looking for volunteers.
- Family Sharing - A food pantry located in Ozaukee County that makes it their mission to provide food, free of charge, to families in need. Volunteer opportunities include restocking of shelves with food items, donation of non-perishable food items and financial donations.
- United Way - Volunteer opportunities available during the COVID-19 response include the donation of homemade masks to medical facilities, notes of encouragement to medical staff and patients, blood donations and many, many more.
- Wisconsin Emergency Assistance Volunteer Registry - A web-based online registration system for Wisconsin's health professional volunteers (actively practicing, learning or retired) willing to serve in an emergency. Even if you do not work in the health profession, but simply have an interest in assisting your community during a health crisis, you are invited to register.

PBS Wisconsin, Milwaukee PBS, and DPI
have partnered to support at-home learning for students and families by broadcasting a new weekday television schedule of programming with digital resources. Beginning Monday, March 30, PBS Wisconsin will dedicate the 5 a.m.-5 p.m. daytime weekday schedule on The Wisconsin Channel, or PBS Wisconsin-2, and Milwaukee PBS will dedicate the 7 a.m.-5 p.m. daytime weekday schedule on WMVT 36.1 to educational programming including specific blocks of time for pre-K through 12th grade levels and covers subjects, including English language arts, social studies, science, and math.
