IMPORTANT UPDATES:
PSAT/SAT Testing | October 13
On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, all Antonian freshman, sophomore, and junior students will take the PSAT, and all senior students will take the SAT as part of the school day.

The PSAT/SAT School Day provides a stress-free environment without a monetary investment for our students. To do their best, students are encouraged to bring 2 No 2 pencils, their calculators and be physically and mentally prepared. Once they receive results, students should utilize their College Board account to access study guides and practice exams to prepare for future PSAT/SATs.

ALL STUDENTS NEED TO BE ON CAMPUS BY 8:00 a.m. on October 13th to be able to complete the exam in the time allotted. Students will be released for the day after their test. Approximate release times are below:

Freshmen: Between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors: Between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The PSAT for sophomores and juniors will serve as practice, and scores are used in the determination of qualification for dual credit courses for the 2022-2023 school year. The PSAT is the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test for our current juniors. Based upon results, juniors may be recognized as National Merit or Commended Scholars or receive National Hispanic or National African American Recognition. Colleges may award varying scholarship amounts for each level of recognition. Sophomores can also now qualify for various recognition programs.

Antonian seniors will take the SAT college admissions exam at no charge to them on SAT School Day. Seniors will experience the exam in familiar surroundings, thus reducing test anxiety and increasing chances for optimal scores. Scores can be used for college admission, acceptance into specific college or summer programs, access to merit-based student aid, and scholarship application.

Good luck!

Student Highlights
Congratulations to Sophia Lohmeier!

Sophomore student Sophia Lohmeier placed in the top ten in the nation-wide young writer’s 2021 Lune Spark Short Story Contest that scored an original work on theme, style, and creativity.

Sophia placed 7th with a historical fiction short story about a Japanese-American girl rising above the horrors and hostility towards her and 14,000 others based on their ethnicity and forced to move from their homes into Idaho’s Minidoka Japanese Internment Camp after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.

The top 20 contestant winners then have an opportunity to work with an editor to learn more about the writing process, and the collection of stories will be published in a short story anthology soon to be released.
Week Seven: Athlete's of the Week
