Eid-ul-Adha Announcement
The first day of Eid-al-Adha will be on Saturday, July 09, 2022. The day of Arafat will be on Friday, July 08, 2022
 
As a reminder, it is highly encouraged to fast the first 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah or at least the day of Arafat. According to authentic narrations, The Prophet (PBUH) used to fast during the first 9 days of Dhul-Hijjah. 
 
We have planned for following set of events at MAPS Redmond:
  1. Day of Arafat Halaqa: Sh. Joban will conduct family halaqa on Friday, July 8 starting from 8:30pm until Maghrib prayer. 
  2. Iftar on the Day of Arafat: MAPS Redmond will be hosting a community iftar on Friday, July 8, 2022. We encourage you to either bring a dish to share or donate to the Iftar program. Please register here for the potluck and/or to donate towards the Iftar.
  3. There will be an Eid Bazaar on the evening of Friday, July 8, and on Eid day, Saturday, July 9
  4. There will also be fun kids activities and Henna night on Friday, July 8
  5. Goodie bags, treats, and balloons will be given out on Eid Day following the prayers.
  6. There will be four Eid prayers on Eid Day, with takbeerat starting 30 minutes before prayers. The timings are as follows: 

7:30am: Br. Elyasse El-Yacoubi
9:00am: Br. Alaa Badr
11:00am: Sh. Mohammed Joban
12:30am: Sh. Adam Jamal
Please join us on Saturday, July 9th from after Eid prayers to help distribute Goody Bags and Ice Cream!

Join us on the evening of Friday, July 8th from 5 to 10pm in the MPR at MAPS Redmond and Saturday, July 9th from 7am to 1pm
Join us for our annual Eid Bazaar on Friday, July 8th from 5pm to 10pm in the MPR and Saturday, July 9th, from 7am to 1pm Outdoors!

We will also have a Henna night from 730pm to 10pm, & kids craft 5pm to 7pm on July 8th!
In addition, MAPS Seattle will also be hosting the following events:

MAPS Summer Camp 2022 is open for registration now! We're on to week three now, but there is more than enough time to sign your kiddos up for a camp of your choice in the remaining five weeks. We are also offering a Reading Strategies camp for grades 6-8!

Islamic Studies Camp
There are TWO more weeks of learning left with our Islamic Studies class! Each week, classes will run from 9:30am to 1:30am and are for youth aged 11 and older!

Week 4: July 11th - July 15th
Understand Quranic Arabic taught by Sr. Warisha Soomro
Learn the top 50% of Quranic Arabic vocabulary and grammar to bring the words of the Quran to life in an intensive format
Summer Seerah Intensive
MAPS has partnered up with Qalam institute to bring you their Seerah Intensive program this August! Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity! This Seerah Intensive usually only takes place in Dallas, Texas, and this year MAPS has the honor and great opportunity to bring it to Redmond so you don't have to travel. While online options will be available, it should be noted that this this class is best experienced in person.

This is a spoken Urdu class for kids aged 6-13, with a potential to continue over the next year in person or online! Quran Memorization Camp

Hand Embroidery Intro Class

Join us in week 6 (July 25th - July 29th) for a hand embroidery intro class, suitable for kids aged 8 and up! This is a beginner class where students will learn 10 stitches on a piece cloth with the help of a hoop.

  • Pair of scissors

Students can bring their own materials or the materials will be provided for a $20 fee.
