Dear Normandale Families,
Summer is almost here and we are all looking forward to some fun in the sun! Along with summer fun, students and families may also be looking for academic opportunities. Motivating children to learn over the summer is one of those challenging tasks every parent faces sooner or later. There are a myriad of reasons children don’t like to do summer work, or even read over the summer months. These articles will explain why and what you can do about it. Dig in!
Still want more? Check out the EPS Summer Learning site. Here you will find a list of programs in both math and reading for our elementary, middle, and high school students, including our At-Home Summer Math and Reading Programs (register before June 2nd). Finally, don’t forget the Elementary Media Resources site for even more learning resources.

END-OF-YEAR TEACHER/STAFF GIFTS
The Normandale PTO wants to provide a helping hand and facilitate end-of-year gifts for Normandale teachers and staff. Participation is optional.
The PTO has created an online form that will allow families to make an electronic payment with a custom note to their chosen teachers/Normandale staff members.
The form is available within the Membership Toolkit platform. All gifts must be submitted by Friday, May 27.
In order to access the form, you must be logged in to Normandale's Membership Toolkit portal. If you have not confirmed your family's data this year, you will need to do that before the system will allow you to access the gift form. Once you are logged in, you can find Forms under the My Account menu.
The gift form is also available through the Membership Toolkit mobile app. You can find it in the top left menu under My Account > Forms. Normandale families already have an entry in the directory even if you have never logged in. If you are unsure what email address is associated with your Normandale Membership Toolkit account, or if you have any questions about the form, please email Sheri Rosen.
Additional details:
- Funds will be distributed to teachers in the form of a cash gift.
- Teachers/staff do not see individual gift amounts.
- You may use this form as many times as you'd like.
- We will compile and distribute any notes to teachers/staff you would like to include.
- If you would like to leave a note but not give a gift, enter an amount to enable the notes box and use the code NOTESONLY in the Scholarship Code section at checkout.
- If you see a $0.00 that is not changeable, that staff member has elected not to receive monetary gifts. Feel free to leave a note!
Once again, participation is completely optional.

MEDICATION PICK-UP
All student medications will be sent home the last few days of school. Health Services will package student medication/supplies in a labeled bag and send home in their backpack unless you make alternative arrangements with the health office. Once at home, please remove all medication and store safely.
Epinephrine and infrequently used medications: will be sent home with students sometime during the last 5 days of school following any off-campus activities.
Daily/frequently used medication and inhalers: will be sent home with students on the last day of school.
Scheduled Medications: A notification will be sent to parent emails on the day the medication is sent home with a “count” of remaining medication. Once at home, please remove all medication and store safely.
Contact the health office if:
- your child will not be in attendance the last day of school
- you would like to make alternative arrangements for medication pickup
Thank you for your help and have a great summer.

2022-23 NORMANDALE SCHOOL SUPPLIES
At Normandale, we buy school supplies in bulk for all students. This saves time and money for families, reduces waste, and promotes sharing as part of our school culture. Supplies are ready for students in the classroom before the first day of school.
We will be collecting field trip fees, classroom party fees, and PTO fees at the same time as school supplies.
Ordering Your Supplies

In order to access the school supplies form, you must be logged in to Normandale's Membership Toolkit portal. School Supplies
This cost varies by grade. Teachers work with the school supply team to ensure they have all the supplies needed for their classrooms.
French Intern Donation
The largest and most important line item in the PTO fee payment. We ask that you contribute $100 PER STUDENT you have at Normandale to help pay for all the things needed to bring the best interns into our classrooms. The fundraising we do throughout the year covers a large portion of the expenses; PTO family donations make up the rest.
PTO Family Contribution
Each FAMILY is asked to contribute a flat fee of $30 per year. These membership fees are allocated for various school-wide programs, grants, and financial aid.
Scholarships are Available - Please contact Principal Holden.
