This has been a difficult year for all of us. I doubt there is anyone who hasn’t experienced a hardship or loss. I could list all the reasons 2020 is a year we’re glad to have behind us, but we know what they are and reminders only make us discouraged and disheartened.
I think we can all agree to rejoice that 2020 is ending, but there are no promises for 2021!
The One and Only promise we can claim is that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow! We rejoice together that He will never leave us or forsake us no matter what is happening in the world or in our world.
I have an Advent Calendar from InTouch Ministries for the month of December with a window to open each day approaching December 25. Behind the window is one word signifying the birth of our Savior accompanied by a Scripture. I smiled when I saw on December 15 the word “Rejoice” and Psalm 95:1-2.
Come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come to him with thanksgiving.
Let us sing psalms of praise to him.
Rejoicing is a characteristic foundation of the Christian faith. We rejoice with gladness and joy because Jesus Christ came down from heaven to be born in a lowly manger for you, for me, and for every person who puts their trust and hope in Him and for those who are still undecided.
So turn up the praise music, put a song in your heart, and rejoice with me that no matter how dark the world might seem, we’re going to celebrate the Light of the world not just on Christmas day, but every day we wake up and take a breath.
Dave and I rejoice over all of you who let us come into your life each month with words and thoughts we pray will bless and encourage you. I especially, rejoice that God blessed me twenty-eight years ago on December 19, 1992 with a loving, godly husband beside me in life and About His Work Ministries. He’s the techie talent behind this newsletter every month.
Rejoice in the Lord with us! We pray for a joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year!
About His Work with you,
Janet
