IN-PERSON WORSHIP
This weekend's worship services will be held inside in our sanctuary at 9am and 11am! As outlined in the most recent COVID-19 Safety Update from Pastor Hank, masks are required for all attendants age 3 and up regardless of vaccination status. Hand sanitizer will be available and encouraged upon entrance.

ONLINE WORSHIP
We know that many from our church won't be joining us for the in-person services, and we bless each of you as you decide what is best for you! You can join us virtually via our live-streamed services at 9am and 11am on YouTube, or watch the service later, beginning on Sunday afternoon.
This Worship Resource Page serves as a companion to the online worship service and includes song lyrics and sermon scripture.

MISSIONS SUNDAY
Next Sunday, October 17 we will celebrate our annual Missions Sunday - we hope you'll plan to join us, either in person or online, for this special service!
John and Esther Spurrier, BIC World Missions global workers in Zambia, will be with us to share the morning's message, A Long Obedience in the Same Location. We're looking forward to the Spurriers' inspiration and challenge growing out of their decades of service at Macha Hospital and in the Macha community! We hope you won't miss it!
|
|
And each year on Missions Sunday, we take a special Missions Offering, which is used primarily to provide a love gift to all of the missionaries sent out from our church, with a small portion given to BIC World Missions. Our Offering Goal for this year is $10,000 or more. It will take many gifts, both large and small, to reach this goal. Each of us is encouraged to ask God for direction in what we are to share in order to support and bless our missionaries this year. You can give your Missions Offering in person at our services on October 17, or you can give online or mail a check to the church (marked for Missions Offering) anytime between now and the first Sunday in November.

YOUTH OUTDOOR GAME NIGHT
All youth are invited to join us for an Outdoor Game Night on Friday, October 15th from 6pm to 9pm. We plan to have lots of food and play games like Manhunt, Capture the Flag and more! The event will be held at 339 North Locust Pt. Road in Mechanicsburg. Plan to wear layers of clothing - it may get chilly as the evening sets in. Please follow this link to sign up for an item to bring, and feel free to reach out to Pastor Brie with any questions.

YOUNG ADULT JUSTICE WALK
All young adults are invited to join us for a Harrisburg Justice Walk led by Jesse Stowell next Sunday, October 17th, after our young adult lunch! The Justice Walk is an interactive walking tour of the main tourist areas in Harrisburg - but we'll make a point to engage with the spiritual realities of the city's history through the stories, peoples, and cultures that have called this place home. We'll learn about the past, explore how to see with the eyes of our Creator, lament injustices, listen to current realities, look for signs of hope, and ask about our next steps in engaging the city. Your stories and experiences in Harrisburg are also a vital part of the tour. The tour begins at Riverfront Park and ends at the Broad Street Market. You may want to park at the Market and a few people pile into a car to ferry to Riverfront Park, or plan to walk back to your car afterwards.

YOUTH SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
All youth are invited to participate in this month's super fun service opportunity! We get to volunteer at Kenbrook Bible Camp with their Fall Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 23! The event runs from 10am to 3pm and will include a climbing tower, boating, pumpkin painting, s'mores, snow cones, lunch, and a visit from WJTL Kid's Cookie Break. We will be helping at the various stations and we need to report to Kenbrook at 9:30am to prepare. If you'd like transportation, we're leaving from HBIC at 8:30am. Please wear comfortable clothing, dress in layers and pack a water bottle. Follow this link to let me know you’ll be attending as well as to let me know if you’ll need a ride. Feel free to reach out to Pastor Brie with any questions!

YOUNG ADULT LUNCHES
We welcome all young adults to join us for lunch immediately after our 11am worship service each 1st and 3rd Sundays! We will meet in the open area (enter the sanctuary entrance, turn left and go through the far doors). We hope for this to be a time of making connections as well as encouraging one another in our walks! Feel free to reach out to Pastor Brie with any questions.
Donations toward the meal are welcome. There is a collection box at the meals or you can donate here and choose the ‘Young Adult Ministry’ fund line.

OCTOBER MEET & GREET
Our October Meet & Greet serves as an alternative to traditional Halloween/Trick or Treat events and offers families a safe and fun evening! This year, we'll have pumpkin painting, games, crafts, and more! We need volunteers to help with set-up, tear-down, and interacting with visitors during the event. Sign up here or contact Pastor Carmen with questions!

This group leads the church in multi-cultural worship once a month and will meet for rehearsal on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month beginning on October 21. The more, the merrier! Contact Pastor Hannah with questions or to indicate your interest.

REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT HELP
The Refugee Resettlement program in Harrisburg is currently looking for landlords with affordable and safe apartments/houses in the Harrisburg or Mechanicsburg area that are willing to rent to newly-arrived refugees. Catholic Charities can typically provide 2-3 months of rent, but the majority of refugees are employed and equipped to pay rent and utilities by the second month. Places for refugees to stay temporarily until they are able to move into their apartment are also needed.
Contact Pastor Carmen if you are able to help in one of these ways!

STAFF CONTACT INFO
We welcome you to contact us by email or by phone (717-561-2170) if you have a need. Due to the recent switch of service providers, we do not currently have separate extensions for staff members. Feel free to leave a message on the general voicemail box and it will be passed on to the appropriate person.
Here is the E-Mail contact information for our pastoral and office staff.
