Dear Redeemer Family,
We hope and pray that each of you has had a blessed week. Below is some information to remember as well as some upcoming events. We hope to see each of you on Sunday either in the sanctuary or online.
Prayers for our Youth traveling to Harrisburg
We offer prayers this week for our youth traveling to Harrisburg, PA, for their mission trip. They will be serving at a local food bank, repairing homes for the elderly, and serving at a community garden. We pray for God's blessings on their journey, and may they help others to know God's love through their service.
Summer Worship Schedule
9 am and 10:30 am
We offer two worship services over the summer through Sunday, August 21. For this week the 9 am service will be traditional and the 10:30 am service will be contemporary. That will change mid-summer but more about that later in the month. It is important that you sign-up for our in-person services so that we can record accurately our weekly attendance. It also allows us to know the names and contact information of our guests. If at the last minute you decide you want to attend then please come. All are welcome.

Wednesday PM Bible Study, July 13, 7 pm to 8 pm
Our summer Bible Study series continues as we study the Book of Deuteronomy. This week we will study Chapters 27-30. All are welcome.

Vacation Bible School – Bible Camp, July 25 through 28 (9 am – 12 pm)
Camp counselors from our Lutheran Camp, Mar-Lu-Ridge, are coming to Redeemer to lead our youth in experiences that will keep them engaged throughout the morning. The curriculum is geared towards the older youth so per their guidelines children must be between the ages of 6 and 11. The cost for the week-long camp is $20. All children in this age range are welcome. Please share the good news with friends and neighbors!
Sign-Up for Vacation Bible School
Urgent Need for Shoe Boxes for RRP Summer Camp
Children are making “solar ovens” using shoeboxes this year at summer camp. Any donations are appreciated as a total of 40 are needed. Just drop off on table in Crossroads. For more info, contact Linda McConnaughay.
Collecting School Supplies for SHARE
SHARE will be collecting school supplies through July 15. Click here to find the list of needs. Donations can be dropped off at SHARE, 1367 Chain Bridge Road or you can put them on the cart by Door #10 at our church.
Boy Scout Collecting School Supplies for Homestretch
Stanley Carroll, a member of Redeemer and a First Class Scout in BSA Troop 698, is working on his “Citizenship in the Community” merit badge. He is collecting school supplies for Homestretch that is located in Falls Church. The drive will run through July 22. Please click here to sign up. Stanley has almost reached his goal! Thank you!
Essay and Art Contest Flyer
Attached is a flyer for the 2022 Essay and Art Contest through Tysons Interfaith. The theme this year is "Out of Many One/Exploring Our Roots." Note that this year's contest is for those 12 and younger and for teenagers. You can submit entries at any time this summer or fall.
It is a wonderful activity for our young people. Details on how to enter are on the flyer, but if you have any questions, send a note to Irene or Dave.
Lohengrin Opera
Sunday, August 7, 3 pm
Join us for an abridged version of Wagner’s Lohengrin presented by the Opera Susquehanna. The performance will take place in the sanctuary. For tickets go to operasusquehanna.org. The cost is $25.
