In 1850, Louis Agassiz commissioned photographer JT Zealy to capture nude images of enslaved men and women as "evidence" that Black people were a separate and inferior species- deserving to be enslaved.

Harvard has since profited off these imagesand refuses to return the images to Renty's known descendant, Tamara Lanier.
