Brrr...it's chilly out there!
The sun is beautiful, but that wind is cold! Here in Vermont, winter has finally come blowing in, with sub-zero wind chills and blowing snow. No Nor'easter yet, but in most places, there's some snow on the ground and everything is frozen. For those of us who don't ski or snowshoe, the woodstove or fireplace is roaring, and we're hunkered down under quilts doing handwork, or adding extra layers (of shirts and/or socks) to go into the studio to sew. Yes, we're still staying pretty isolated, but we can try to make the best of the situation and either plan and start new projects, or pull out and finish old ones. For those of you working on old projects, check out the blurb at the end of this newsletter for a new social media campaign we're starting this month. You can take part too!

The usual reminder if you are coming to see us:
*Masks are mandatory, for both customers and staff.
*Please sanitize at the door when you come in. Your hands must be completely dry before you can touch the fabric.
*Store capacity is 4 customers at once.
*We will remain closed on Sundays until further notice.

We continue to process both orders to ship and Store Pickups, so feel free to shop online. Cindy has put more than 2,300 bolts of our inventory on the website, and Marti has added thread, books, and patterns. We're doing our very best to make your Yankee Pride experience a good one, whether you're walking among the bolts or shopping from your couch.

Quilt-Along with Judy

Judy is almost finished with Diane Nagle's Blue Boardwalk (at left). Judy's updated instructions, using Studio 180 tools, are available by clicking here. You can print them out for yourself, and be on your way!

We posted Judy's most recent progress on our social media channels. If you didn't see it, the photo is below. Check out how different it looks from the original. Next time, a glamour shot.

 Block of the Month Projects

Update: "Nebula" has begun! There is still some room in the group if you want to sign up, so if you need some bright colors and a new project, give us a call to sign up.

Update: "American Glory" has begun! The fabric finally arrived, and Marti got everything organized and ready to go. There is also some room left in this BOM - our sample quilt is hanging in the shop, and is much prettier than a simple photo, so stop in and see it.

Coming soon: "Amish With a Twist"
This Nancy Rink design will be our next BOM, and we're twisting it a bit more - we'll be using Moda "Grunge" instead of solids in the quilt! Look for more information in future issues of the newsletter.

Recent Fabric Arrivals

These are the highlights of recent arrivals. Click on the photo for a closeup, and click here if you're interested in purchasing any of these fabrics by the yard on our website:

Dreamscapes

from Ira Kennedy

by Moda

These busy little prints will be so much fun to add to your kids quilts! Bubbles, bubbles, and more bubbles, layering over and under each other - they're a big pop of color.

My Favorite Color is Moda

by Moda

This fun print is very much a novelty, meant for all quilters. Each dot represents a color Moda uses when designing their fabrics. The corresponding name of the color is listed right under the dot. Make an eye-catching bag, or curtains for your studio. Or just pick up a piece to use as a reference for your future projects.

Batiks

by Hoffman

Our influx of batiks has slowed for now. Our inventory looks much better, with many of our 1895s being restocked, and with pretty prints like these to add to the mix. That red print (left in photo) is just stunning! Cindy's making a few new jelly rolls for us that include the blue & purple batiks (top and bottom in photo).

Be Mine

from Stacy Iest Hsu

by Moda

We don't normally carry lots of prints for holidays other than Christmas. The problem is that the fabrics are hot for two weeks, then no one touches them for the rest of the year. The fabrics in this new Moda group can definitely be used all year long, in floral projects and kids projects alike. Our favorite is that pink and red stripe (top left in photo).

Rainbow of Jewels

from Jason Yenter

by In the Beginning

Jason's designs have glorious color and lots of depth. Aren't you just itching to get your hands on one of these, for either a new quilt or a new bag?

News, Notes, and other Interesting Stuff

Just in at the shop, and hot off the press is the Spring 2021 issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects. It's been a while since we've seen this publication, so dive in and check out what's new in the primitive world!

Check out our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) every Friday, starting this week, for a new feature called "Finally Finished Fridays". Do you have projects that have been sitting in corners and closets, under piles and in drawers, waiting patiently for you to finish them? We do, too. Maybe it's the pandemic, or maybe it's just our motivation levels, but one by one, we're getting them done. We know from talking to you at the shop, that you've been working on yours too. YP staff members will be posting our FF projects, and we invite you to send your photos so we can share them, too. See you Friday!

Thank you, as always, for your business, and thank you for being our customer. We love that you still believe in shopping local!
