D65 2019-2020 Achievement and Accountability Report and School Profiles Now Available
Each year, District 65 publishes a districtwide report to share year-end data on key measures and metrics as well as highlights of the achievements and accomplishments of our students, educators, principals, and community. These achievements reflect the diverse array of learning and experiences that support student development and leadership. There are also school profile reports for elementary, middle, and magnet schools that are consistent with the district report for transparency and clarity of information. In March 2020, the pandemic upended our models of traditional learning which required a complete reimagination of our schools. The pandemic continues to impact our district in many ways, including the data we use to track and monitor student learning and progress. Adjustments were made in this annual report to account for this impact. Available in both English and Spanish, we hope our community continues to find the information included in these reports informative, inclusive, and valuable.

Foundation 65’s Honor a Teacher Program Helps Community Celebrate Educators!
With Teacher Appreciation Week right around the corner (May 3-7), we know our community is excited to honor our educators! Through Foundation 65’s 'Honor a Teacher' program, our community has the opportunity to say thank you to our educators who have been working so hard for all of our students this year. Educators who are recognized with a donation in their honor will receive a digital card from Foundation 65, which includes the name of the sender and a personal note. Donations must be submitted by April 23 in order to send a personal note to an educator. The amount of the gift will not be shared publicly with the educator. Even better, your gift will support Foundation 65’s mission of investing in educator-led initiatives to support educational equity through literacy and arts in a child’s foundational years.

Help Keep our Community Safe - Refrain from High-Risk Activities
Continue to help our community by doing your part in keeping everyone safe by refraining from high-risk activities. Be mindful to avoid unmasked gatherings among non-vaccinated individuals, breaking social distancing guidelines, and traveling during this time. As a reminder, District 65 continues to advise against travel, especially to states with high community spread of COVID-19 (greater than 12% positivity rate), travel by plane, or engaging in any of the high-risk behavior previously mentioned. No one should come to school if they are sick or if they may have been involved in any type of high-risk activity. If your child isn’t feeling well, traveled to an area with high community spread, or engaged in a high-risk situation for contracting COVID-19, please err on the side of safety for all and have them stay at home. Take a moment to view the travel guidance we’ve previously issued and review our flexible student attendance procedures in the event that your child needs to stay home and/or self-quarantine as needed.
