USCIS office closure updates

USCIS Field Office Closure and Rescheduling:
    • USCIS  has suspended in-person services (including interviews, biometrics appointments, naturalization oath ceremonies, and InfoPass appointments) until at least May 3.
    • When USCIS resumes normal operations, USCIS field offices will automatically reschedule the cancelled interviews, biometrics and oath ceremonies.  You will receive a new appointment letter in the mail.  See also the EAD extension section below.
    • If no biometrics appointment or naturalization oath ceremony notice is received within 90 days of USCIS resuming normal operations, contact USCIS Contact Center.
    • Individuals who had InfoPass appointments at the field office must reschedule through the USCIS Contact Center, once field offices reopen to the public
    • USCIS staff are continuing to perform duties that do not involve contact with the public.
Emergency Services:
  • USCIS will provide emergency services for limited situations.  To schedule an emergency appointment, contact the USCIS Contact Center.
Flexibility in Responding to Requests for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny, Notice of Intent to Revoke, or Notice of Intent to Terminate:
  • A response received within 60 calendar days after the response due date set forth in a Request for Evidence, Notice of Intent to Deny, Notice of Intent to Revoke, or Notice of Intent to Terminate will be considered before taking any action if such request or notice is issued and dated by USCIS between March 1 and May 1, 2020, inclusive.
EAD extensions:
  • Applicants who had a biometrics appointment scheduled  after USCIS closed on March 18 or who have filed an EAD extension, will have their application processed using previously submitted biometrics.  No new biometrics appointment will be required for EAD extension applications.
