Help Feed the Hungry
Join IAM in the Souper Bowl of Caring
|
|
Once again this year, IAM is proud to partner with tacklehunger.org in the Souper Bowl of Caring.
Souper Bowl of Caring helps transform the annual Super Bowl into a nation-wide movement inspiring people to give locally and make a collective impact on hunger. Mobilizing grassroots resources including churches, schools, civic groups, and caring individuals, the Souper Bowl of Caring movement has created over $160 million worth of support that stays completely local.
Here in Henderson County, you can organize a Souper Bowl of Caring drive in your faith congregation, neighborhood, civic organization or club to help local neighbors who are food insecure.
An Easy Way to Participate
An easy way is to ask your organization to collect cans of soup and other canned foods and donations of $1 or more to go with your food donations. Bring them to IAM during February, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
If you need help with a large drive, please call Ernest or Wally at IAM to arrange a pick-up: 828-697-7029.
Thank you for helping IAM feed the estimated 1 in 7 people (children and adults) in Western North Carolina who struggle with hunger and the 1 in 5 children who face food insecurity in our region of North Carolina.
This year, let's make sure we score a touchdown in the fight against hunger!

Don't Have Time to Donate Food and Clothes?

The very best way to help is to make a financial donation to IAM.
Because we purchase in bulk and often receive generous discounts from our vendors, your dollars can go even further when you make a direct contribution to IAM.
However you choose to donate, please know that we are very grateful for the care and concern you show for our Henderson County neighbors facing unprecedented financial challenges.

Please consider volunteering at IAM!
Sharing your time with IAM is a wonderful way to give back to the community and help meet the ever-increasing needs of our neighbors suffering due to the pandemic and subsequent economic hardships.
We are very intentional about our safety protocols and have several socially-distanced shifts available in our Food and Clothing Assistance Departments. We also have opportunities for van or truck drivers to travel to local stores and Manna Food Bank to pick up food donations.
Please call Dianne King, Volunteer Coordinator, at 828-697-7029 to see how you might help IAM be the Helping Hands & Caring Hearts in our community. Thank you!

Our Stimulus Check Challenge in 2020 raised over $520,000 to help our neighbors in need here in Henderson County. We were grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support from our generous community.
Now that the second round of stimulus checks are being issued, we are inviting those who are able to share some or all of the money with local residents who continue to struggle to find the resources to feed their families, pay their mortgage/rent so they can stay in their home and pay household bills like utilities, auto maintenance and medical bills.
Please consider using all or part of your stimulus check as a way to help those in need. Mail your donations to:
