Do Something for CancerCare 

We are excited to announce a new fundraising campaign called Do Something for CancerCare, launching today, August 11. This is a "Do It Yourself/GoFundMe" way to raise money. Participating is fun and easy! Ask your family and friends to support you as you practice a hobby you enjoy or show off a hidden skill. Do you want to walk or run a 5K? Run on a treadmill for an hour? Play your guitar or piano and give a virtual concert? Clean out the garage you've been talking about doing for years? Everyone can do something. Learn more about the campaign and get some ideas on how you can support our free programs and services in the video below.

CancerCare Oncology Social Worker Featured on NPR

Managing a cancer diagnosis has always come with a series of challenges. During the pandemic, people affected by cancer are "managing everything all at once on triple the scale," says CancerCare oncology social worker, Marlee Kiel, LMSW. In a recent NPR article, "Pandemic Deepens Cancer's Stress And Tough Choices," Kiel and others talk about the heightened worries of those affected by cancer in the time of the coronavirus. 
 
 
Browse and Order Publications From CancerCare

CancerCare has a library of over 300 publications for individuals coping with cancer, as well as their loved ones and caregivers. The library is made up of fact sheets and booklets, which are available instantly online and downloadable as PDFs. Physical copies of select publications can be ordered and sent free of charge.


CancerCare's Pet Assistance and Wellness (PAW)
Program Continues to Help Pet Owners Affected by Cancer

The PAW Program helps people living with cancer in active treatment and their loved ones care for their cats or dogs during the emotional, physical and financial challenges of cancer treatment. CancerCare recognizes that pets are an integral part of a cancer patient's support network and developed this program to address the distinct needs of people with cancer who share their home with a cat or dog.

Make sure you've signed up for our upcoming Connect Education Workshops! These free workshops provide the latest cancer information straight from leading experts, via phone or online. At the end of the workshop, you'll have a chance to ask the experts your own questions.


 
CancerCare's Young Professionals Committee Scholarship Announcement

We're getting ready to announce our first round of awards for the YPC Scholarship in mid-August, but there is still time to apply! The scholarship is open for the remainder of 2020-2021 academic year. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage all students who meet the guidelines to reach out.
