New this year: the Wishing Tree!
|
Please take a moment to stop and check out ACA's Wishing Tree, located in the front lobby. We asked our teachers to list a few items from their classroom wish lists. These are items that will enhance a lesson or add an extra touch to the classroom or playground. Some examples of requested items: board games, book cart for the Library, see-saw for the playground, and 24 tennis balls. There is quite a variety! Due to the early Christmas Break, the Wishing Tree will remain in the lobby through Friday, Jan. 8. If you would like to grant a wish, or two, simply pick one from the branches of the Wishing Tree, and return the gift, and its tag, to the ACA Wishing Tree by Friday, Jan. 8.

This year began with the intention of moving forward with the creation of the Strategic Plan, a document that would capture and communicate the long-term vision of ACA. As we all know, 2020 did not unfold as planned. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the strategic plan. Please know that it has not been forgotten and is a priority for 2021.
Last night, in the Board of Governors meeting, we closed our time together by acknowledging God's provision throughout this past year and expressing gratitude. With every twist and turn over the past twelve months, the Lord has protected ACA in ways we have seen and in ways we will never know.
May your Christmas break be full of meaningful family time and quiet moments of reflection.
Merry Christmas!
Nikki Bell
Chair

As noted in ACA's COVID-19 policies, students who are ill or suspect they may be ill should remain at home. Augustine Christian Academy will work with parents during periods of student absences when families are working to support their child’s health and the health of others. ACA will not penalize students for absences during the 2020-21 School Year.
Beginning January 5, 2021, the following will be required of all students:
-
The parent or student must call the front office by Noon on the day the student is absent to report if the student is ill, quarantined due to contact with someone with COVID-19, or absent for another reason (appointment, vacation, family emergency, etc.).
- When an absence occurs, it is the student’s responsibility to inquire about, complete, and return assignments.
-
If the student is ill: the student will be given full credit for work done that satisfies the conditions of each teacher’s policy for make-up work.
-
If the student is quarantined and not ill: the student will be responsible for keeping up with all regular class due dates, and no exceptions will be made for not being physically present in the classroom. It will be at each teacher’s discretion to determine if a student’s work will be accepted. As such, teachers are not required, but may make provision for students to access regular classroom time via Facetime, Zoom, or Google Meets.
-
If a student reports an absence for another reason: the student will be responsible for keeping up with all regular class due dates. It will be at each teacher’s discretion to determine if a student’s work will be accepted for full credit.
-
If the parent or student does not contact the office by Noon on the day the student is absent, the teacher(s) will assume the student is absent and work will be marked as late.
- If a pattern of absences appears on days when larger assignments are due or when assessments are given, the student may be subject to administrative action.
If you have any questions regarding this policy update, please e-mail Mr. Fitzgerald.

January Lunch Orders & Reminders
|
Parents are encouraged to utilize the Monthly Lunch Order to pre-order for their students. Payment is due when placing your order. For January, the monthly order form is due Tues., Jan. 5. Students may still order on a daily basis, but this monthly order form is for your convenience.
The commercial refrigerator, located in the Great Room, is always available, if needed, for lunchboxes. Grammar students cannot utilize the microwaves. Parents, please be mindful of lunch contents as we need to encourage lunch independence as much as possible this year with our increased health and safety protocols. Please make sure your child can open any packages in their lunch. Thank you for your help!
Payment & School Ledger:
-
Unless paid on the day of ordering or through the monthly purchase option, a student or staff's order total will be deducted from their School Ledger.
-
Parents are welcome to put money towards their student's School Ledger at any time throughout the school year.
-
The easiest way to add money to your student's School Ledger is to pay online HERE. Click the PayPal Donate button, and in the "Notes" section, please provide the student's first and last name and purpose of the payment.
