Tax Update #2
To Our Clients and Friends,

The North Carolina Department of Revenue announced that it has extended the April 15 State tax filing deadline to July 15.

The extension, which was announced Friday, applies to all individual, corporate, and franchise taxes. The extension is intended to mirror the deadline change announced by the IRS.

While penalties will not be charged for taxes filed on or before July 15, the NC Department of Revenue announced that interest will be charged on tax amounts due as of April 15, from April 15 until the date paid.

The changes do not apply to sales taxes, use taxes, or withholding taxes.
