Welcome Back: The Summit's Re-Entry Plan Update
|
Dear Summit Community,
As faculty returned to campus this week, I tried to take a quick moment to pause and reflect on the many challenges we've all faced in recent months. When I consider the uncertainty we are all facing and the obstacles we have yet to face, I'm grounded in the following:
Gratitude - Thank you all for your dedication and commitment. At every turn, our faculty, staff, board, and families have stepped forward, volunteering their time and effort, forgoing time off, and putting in added hours to ensure we remain on mission to continue advancing progressive education in the Ozarks and keep our Summit community connected in this difficult time.
Teamwork - The move to Distance Learning, preparing for re-entry, and the addition of hybrid offerings were each massive undertakings. I'm humbled by everyone's efforts and our ability to come together as a team to tackle difficulties, to support one another, and to move forward together toward our common goal: to spark the joy of learning in our students.
Leadership - We are small but mighty! Our faculty is comprised of academic leaders with professionalism and expertise that resonates throughout our school community. I have complete trust in our team's abilities to hold us to the highest of standards and to execute learning in any format to the best of our ability.
Resilience - While we forge ahead, we should have a strong sense of accomplishment. We might not know what lies ahead, but we know where we've come from and what we can do together!
I'm fortunate to be part of such a strong, dedicated community. To all of you, I offer my sincerest thanks. We will lead, persevere, and overcome!
Please review the updated version of our re-entry plan, linked below. We are committed to a safe return to campus, with five days of seated instruction in addition to hybrid learning options, on Monday, August 17th.
On behalf of The Summit team, welcome back!
With sincere appreciation,
Dr. Katie Heet, Head of School
