A big thank you to Arts Blast reader Laura, who thought she had found a home for Kino, but, sadly, it wasn't to be. We're still looking for the currently cat-less person out there who can offer our late artist friend Arlia Almond's Kino a loving home. All he needs is an empty lap and an indoor spot to curl up for a day of napping and looking out on his garden domain. He has several years of experience living with an artist, reader, and fellow napper, and will bring his own toys and dishes. Email Julie Lounibos if you have any leads. JulieLounibos@gmail.com

Season Finale! Congratulations, Ballet Vero Beach!
Ballet Vero Beach closes what can only be called a season for the history books this weekend. From Nutcracker on the Indian River (literally on the bank of) to hybrid in-person, in-home full performances, the team of Adam Schnell, Camilo Rodriguez, Katherine Eppink, Anders Southerland, and Matthew Lovegood pulled it off. It couldn't have happened without the BVB Board of Directors, sponsors, patrons, and everyone involved behind the scenes.

CEO/Artistic Director Schnell said, "I am just grateful that we have been able to return to live performances. To do that safely was my one wish, but to do it with such an acclaimed season, well, that is just beyond. We are all exhausted, but have been galvanized to surge ahead thanks to the tremendous support from our community."

Tickets for the live performances at the Vero Beach HS Performing Arts Center April 16-18 and the At Home video access online.

Student Rush will be available for live performances this weekend. High School, Graduate, and Post Graduate Students with valid ID can purchase any seat for $10. Limit of two tickets per ID. See our guest services team starting 1 hour before any of the shows this weekend. Watch at home and regular prices ticket options also start at $10. What are you waiting for?! #balletverobeach #inspiredbyoursurroundings #ballet #verobeach #studentrush

April 16 Art Walk in Downtown Fort Pierce
Tonight!
Time's Running Out to Get to the TOP
The A.E. Backus Museum & Gallery, in celebration of the Museum's 60th Season, offers an invitational exhibition of the 10 past winners of the top awards from The Best of the Best fine art juried show and Through the Eye of the Camera juried photography show, but there's only one more week to see it. The last day is April 25.

Each of the artists is displaying six works. Georgia Love, director of exhibitions at Backus, said, "By asking artists to show six works for presentation,” Love said, “we get a chance to see beyond the snapshot of the single award they won here years ago. Looking at a body of work for each artist, we get to see more range, more depth.”
The artists:
Laurie Aguera-Arcas - Best of Show – 2013 The Best of the Best
Patricia Corapi - Best of Show – 2012 Through the Eye of the Camera
Dawn Currie - Best of Show – 2019 Through the Eye of the Camera
Ellen Fischer - Best of Show – 2017 The Best of the Best (Fall)
Debby Marriott - Best of Show – 2018 The Best of the Best
Erika Masterson - Best of Show – 2015 Through the Eye of the Camera
Dawn Miller - [Best of Show – 2017 The Best of the Best (Spring)
Susan Pantuso - Best of Show – 2009 & 2017 Through the Eye of the Camera
Mike Ricciardi - Best of Show – 2014 Through the Eye of the Camera
Frank Spino - Best of Show – 2019 & 2020 The Best of the Best
THROUGH THE EYE OF THE CAMERA

May 7 – June 18, 2021

Amateur and professional artists in traditional and digital photography are encouraged to enter this favorite competitive opportunity that champions photography as an art form. We return to our beginnings in this juried exhibition to close this special anniversary season. Support the arts by supporting artists.

Summer with Riverside Theatre for Kids!
Summer Camps are split into two, a Junior Academy for younger performers (ages 6-11) in June, and a Senior Academy for older students (ages 11-18) in July. These in-person camps divide the day between technique instruction in singing, acting, and dance in the mornings with rehearsals for a show in the afternoons. Each Academy culminates in a final performance of a different show at the end of each camp!
The Riverside Theatre Education Tuition Assistance and Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to qualifying students.
Applications for the Summer Camps are due May 7.
