Adult Leadership Obion County Application Now Open for 2022-2023
Applications are now open for the Adult Leadership Obion County class of 2022-2023! The purpose of Adult Leadership Obion County is to identify and educate potential community leaders and to prepare them for roles that will make a difference in the community.

Harvard Kennedy School - Authentic Leadership Program
Delta Regional Authority (DRA) is continuing its partnership with Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government (HKS) to offer an education opportunity exclusively to alumni of the Delta Leadership Institute (DLI) Executive Academy. The program, designed and led by Harvard faculty, focuses on modern leadership principles to advance one’s ability to solve real-world challenges. Last week, 39 DLI alumni from across the eight-state Mississippi River Delta and Alabama Black Belt regions graduated with an HKS Executive Education Certificate in Authentic Leadership. Representing the Obion County Chamber of Commerce was Brooke Simmons.

“This year’s class of HKS Authentic Leadership graduates represents a diverse cohort of community leaders from throughout the DRA region,” said DRA Federal Co-Chairman Dr. Corey Wiggins. “Delta Regional Authority’s partnership with the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government provides invaluable leadership training, and I am proud that we can invest in the people that are advancing opportunity and furthering DRA’s mission to improve the lives of people living in the DRA region.” 

As part of DRA’s ongoing intentionality to increase the agency’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, this year DRA made available a travel stipend with special consideration to applicants who represent and/or work with historically disadvantaged communities.
Tyson Foods Celebrates 25 Years
In June, we celebrated 25 years of Tyson Foods - Obion County Complex. The Union City Complex also was awarded McDonalds Global Supplier of the Year! We are so thankful for all that Tyson does in this community.
West Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Executives Meeting
Chamber of Commerce executives from across the West Tennessee region were able to meet in Henderson on June 15th. This is a great time to collaborate with others and bring back ideas to Obion County! We are so thankful for this group of professionals and look forward to hosting the group in Obion County later this year.
