Faith/Community-Based Organizations/Government Coordination Webinar Aug 12 & 13th

There is still time to sign up -- please share with your networks.

Thanks to the Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), SF CARD will be offering a webinar Aug 12 and 13 from 2:00-3:30 pm on Faith/Community-Based Organizations Coordination with Government-with a San Francisco focus.

The Aug 12 webinar will feature a panel with representatives from SF VOAD members, government, and the San Francisco Interfaith Council to have an open discussion on the opportunities and challenges of working together during emergencies. Invited panelists:

·      Allison Biddinger, American Red Cross
·      Heather Lee, SF CARD
·      Matthew Madsen, The Salvation Army
·      John McKnight, San Francisco Covid Command Center
·      Michael Pappas, San Francisco Interfaith Council
·      Lauren Stiger, San Francisco Covid Command Center
·      Meredith Terrell, SF VOAD & Meals on Wheels of SF

We will follow up on Aug. 13 with a debrief on key take-aways from the panel presentation; then we will review some of the components that will help build the relationships: The Incident Command System (ICS), Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), existing networks, and documentation.
