The Peculiar Charitable Foundation was founded in 1968 by Edward Schug, a life-long resident of Peculiar and Cass County. He wanted to give back to his community through an organization that benefited many local groups and individuals. Ed's daughter, Mary Dobson, and her husband, Larry, became members of the Board of Directors in 1998, continuing the family's tradition of community involvement.

The Foundation has become a leading philanthropic entity in Cass County, providing funding for over 800 college scholarships, special school projects, food pantries, playground equipment, senior citizens, libraries, dental clinics, hospital events, and assisting many local organizations. Read more

Long Range Facility Planning presentations
Come and hear about the District's long range planning process
This school year, the District is working to update its Long Range Facility Plan. During fall 2019, the District contracted the services of a demographer to assist with growth projections for the community. The planning process thus far has focused on data collection and analysis with District leaders and a small planning committee.

The District is now presenting its findings to staff, parent groups and community organizations. The District is developing a 10-year facility plan with the assistance of community input.

Come and hear about the District's Long Range Facility Planning process. Information includes current enrollment numbers, growth estimates, and facility capacities. Learn how the District uses that data to plan for the future. You will have the opportunity to share your input in a survey about planning priorities.

You are invited to attend a presentation about the long-range facility planning:
  • Tuesday, March 10 - 6:30 p.m. in the library media center at Raymore-Peculiar High School, 20801 S. School Rd., Peculiar
  • Wednesday, March 11 - 6:30 p.m. in the library media center at Raymore Elementary School, 500 S. Madison St., Raymore
