Thank you for Meeting the March Challenge!
|
|
Greetings!
Did you enjoy our March Madness Challenge?
We even asked members to host a breakout room in our popular Virtual Café, and we were not disappointed!
Even though March is over (and irrespective of you loving or hating that Baylor and Stanford dominated during March Madness), we are continuing the conversation (and fun) on the LinkedIn Group for NNCG members. Join us there!
P.S. See below for more information on the *complimentary* Virtual Café for April 13 and definitely share with your peer consultants.

The Philanthropy Consultant’s Virtual Cafe: Great Conversation, Light Facilitation!
Complimentary and Open to All!
|
|
We are bringing back our Virtual Cafe series in 2021, setting aside open space and Zoom breakout rooms to discuss the issues and questions facing you every day. What would you like to discuss with your philanthropy consultant colleagues?
Potential topics:
- A return to travel? Setting new boundaries and expectations
- Making Zoom meetings work – tips and tricks
- Learning from 2020: helping clients reflect and learn from the shifts in practice and priority that 2020 and Covid required
- Facilitating difficult conversations
- Warm ups that go deep – share your favorite ways to begin sessions
Please register here to attend the April Virtual Cafe and let us know what you would like to discuss (whether one of our sample topics or something different). If you’d be willing to provide light facilitation within your breakout room, please indicate that as well. Final breakouts will be determined based on interest.
Save these dates for future cafes: June 15 @2p ET, September 8 @2p ET, November 11 @2p ET
These sessions are free and are open to all philanthropy consultants, including non-members.

RESPECT THE HUSTLE: WHY DO POC IN PHILANTHROPY WEAR SO MANY HATS?
May 18, 2021 - 12p Eastern
People of color in philanthropy are exhausted. One reason that may not be apparent from the outside is that we almost always have a side hustle: in addition to our regular responsibilities we’re starting employee resource groups, or leading informal support sessions, or organizing an internal DEI committee, or mentoring young people finding their way in the field, or helping our white colleagues navigate the uncertainties of stepping up in this moment of racial-justice reckoning.
Led by Chris Cardona (senior program officer at Ford Foundation) and Adela Ruiz (Program and Grants Manager at NBA Foundation).
