From The Pastor
Except for Baccalaureate Sunday, in which we had 3 services that included a special service for graduates and their family, Sunday was our highest combined worship total since we re-started our services on May 17th! We had about 60% of what we were averaging prior to the suspension of our services in March. It was even more special as we welcomed William Wilbanks (son of William, Sr. and Jessica Wilbanks) upon his profession of faith in Christ! Thank you to everyone who has been so faithful to attend, participate in the livestream services, and give! Thank you most of all for your prayers!

One of our Sanctuary video projectors has broken, and being obsolete is no longer supported by the manufacturer. A new one will cost between $8000 - $10,000. However, the cost to replace all 3 projectors and screens with large LED TVs that will yield a much better picture is only $5000. If you feel led to contribute all or part of this cost, please contact me as soon as possible.

Dr. Jamie Dew, the new president of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, was scheduled as our guest speaker this coming Sunday. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, he will have to reschedule for a later date. I will bring the next message in my series, “Being the Church.” This Sunday’s message will consider the role prayer plays in the life of a believer and a church.

Poplarville:
Wed. Aug. 12, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

If there are no designated areas, prayer walkers will walk on sidewalks and paved parking areas only, progressing around the school where possible. There should not be any type of placards or signs, simply walking and praying.

We feel our schools to be of the utmost importance, and those who serve our
children worthy of our prayers.
Honor and Memorialize
a Pearl River County Veteran!

The Picayune veteran’s memorial, located next to City Hall on Goodyear Boulevard, includes brick pavers; each engraved with a veteran’s name, branch of service, rank, and/or dates of service. The first bricks were laid in 1990 at a formal ceremony. This is a fitting and permanent way to honor those who have served our country in one of the branches of the Armed Forces. I was so honored by a church member who purchased a brick for me. Bricks are still available for only $50 per brick. If you would like to honor a veteran in your family, or perhaps a veteran in our church who has been an inspiration to you, please contact City Hall at (601) 798-9770 or James Fleming at (866) 499-1907.
