Katie Couric On Our Pet Assistance & Wellness (PAW) Program

We are excited to announce the launch of a new video celebrating our Pet Assistance & Wellness (PAW) Program, narrated by award-winning journalist, former CancerCare client and cancer advocate Katie Couric. We are honored that Katie agreed to champion the important relationship between people and their animal companions.

This video was also featured in a Forbes article about Edelman, our pro bono partner for PAW, and the work they've been doing for this vital program.

Pets can be tremendous sources of energy and emotional support for those in times of need. We created our PAW Program to help maintain these incredible bonds for those undergoing cancer care. Thanks to the support of our donors, we are able to provide educational materials on how to maintain the health of self and pet during active treatment and beyond. These include webcasts and publications detailing ways to help with personal fatigue, keeping up the health of your pets and more. When we are able, we also distribute limited financial assistance to help with pet-related expenses, including veterinarian care, pet walking and sitting, pet food and more.
