Hi Everyone:
I hope you are enjoying your holiday. We wrapped up a
great year for TMA's Philadelphia Chapter on December 8th at our annual holiday party. In the interest of self-promotion, the scotch bar was my idea. Back in January, we kicked off the programming year with the NOW Casino Night. We also had another well attended symposium at Caesar's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. Upon reviewing this e-mail so far, I mention scotch once and gambling twice. I probably should balance that out with the softer side of TMA.
We did have our charitable event in September at Independence Beer Garden. Well, that didn't work. We had the latest rendition of the SnapShot Series in February with Gerry Lenfest and enjoyed hearing stories of his early career and more recent activities as a philanthropist. That's better. Oh, and that beer garden event raised $10,500 for the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project (CBAP) and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) of Delaware County, two charities that share our mission of renewal.
In addition, we partnered with the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of Compass to create opportunities for TMA membership to volunteer on pro bono consulting projects in the community. We also had a great panel in Delaware in October and while there was a cocktail hour, there was still education. See...there is something for everyone at TMA.
These are also the final days of my two year role as President of the
Philadelphia Chapter. It was sincerely an honor to part of this organization and I thank all of you for your involvement. I am happy to report that we remain solvent after my reign and, of course, we are now serving Macallan 15 at the holiday party instead of Dewar's. Your welcome.

Linda McDonough, 50 Words LLC and Rich Infantino, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, both past Presidents of the Philadelphia Chapter of TMA, will be leaving the Board this year and I want to take this opportunity to thank them for their gracious service. Rich helped launch NextGen and the innovative and popular SnapShot Series, and under Rich's term, we won the coveted TMA Chapter of the Year award. Linda generously shared her marketing expertise to support our initiatives and programs. Both Linda and Rich have made enormous contributions to the growth of the TMA Philadelphia chapter and our community of professionals and both have been great mentors to me. Thank you Linda and Rich. Even though you are leaving the Board, you will always be welcome to come and enjoy the high quality scotch we serve at our events.
