MEANINGFUL NAMES
In Morah Batya Kahn’s Fourth Grade Class , the girls have a wonderful opportunity to connect to their names. While studying Chumash , they learned how Hashem changed Yaakov Avinu’s name to Yisroel . After they discussed how different names have different meanings, the girls spent time researching the meaning of their own names. They each designed a beautiful scrapbook page with their name and the meaning or reason behind their name. The girls each take turns bringing this special book home to share with their families.
LANGUAGE CARNIVAL
Mrs. Ruthie Kinzer has a great time with her students learning all about the elements of literature, composition and grammar. They are so excited about their learning that they simply want to share it with others. To accommodate this, some of our Third Grade classes have opened their doors to allow the Fourth Grade reading group to put on an educational carnival of learning. A fun time was certainly had by all.
KAVOD ALL AROUND - MOTHER'S EVENING
This past Sunday evening, we hosted a beautiful event for First through Fourth Grade mothers to learn about our school-wide program and how we can partner together to bring about meaningful growth at home and at school. While many were involved with the planning and coordinating, special recognition must be given to Mrs. Liora Rosen , Mrs. Chaya Hoffman , Morah Judy Neuberger and our parent liaison, Mrs. Chana Ciment for creating an evening experience that reflected the beauty of the program itself. The program this year is dedicated in memory of our former Principal, Rabbi Mendel D. Freedman, Z”L . Morah Devorah Goldstein shared some personal reflections with the crowd on how Rabbi Freedman exemplified this middah of kavod in every way. The keynote speaker of the evening was Mrs. Chany Feldbrand , founder of Ateres in Lakewood, NJ. She shared practical and inspiring ways to bring the middah of kavod into our homes and into the lives of our children. Mrs. Feldbrand also shared a beautiful message with the girls in grades 2-4 on Monday morning, allowing the kavod message to go all “Around!”
We respectfully request that the recording should be listened to by mothers only.
HAKSHEVNAH BANOS CHINESE AUCTION
We have achieved our second major milestone in our lunch Hakshevnah Banos (“Pay Attention Girls”) program. This program is designed to encourage the girls to follow directions, clean up and bentch nicely. Each class has demonstrated individual and class-wide milestones in beautiful bentching and listening, in order to earn raffle tickets. All Wednesday morning, the classes rotated through a viewing of the prizes that Morah Miriam Nelkin prepared for them. The lunchroom was hopping with excitement during the auction itself. Congratulations to all the prize winners!
