FIRST FOUNDATIONS

Issue seven of the First Foundations magazine is hot off the press and ready for you to read! We hope you enjoy each page filled with different interpretations of our theme, "listen." Copies of the magazine were mailed out last week to households that did not sign-up for our Easter in-person worship service. Those names were removed from our mailing list, since we had copies available at our worship service. If for some reason you have not received a copy of the magazine and would like one mailed to your home, please email Deborah. If you would rather enjoy the magazine online, the PDF version is linked here.

None of this would be possible without the hours of hard work by our editorial team, writers, and artists!  We are so grateful for all of our contributors - Pam E Powell, Alice Marshbanks, Julie Woodson, John W. Smith, Mary Nash Rusher, Libby Barnes, Jen Foster, and Chris Chapman. We hope you'll enjoy this beautifully designed publication, thanks to the graphic design work of Angie Dickinson. As always, a very special thanks to Jen Foster, Anne Bullard, Pam Powell, for their continued vision, and hours of tedious work editing the magazine! We hope you enjoy reading about listening from a wide range of voices from our community of faith.

A PLAN TO RESUME IN PERSON WORSHIP
AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

The church staff is working with the risk management team on a plan to ease back into some activities slowly and carefully. We will begin allowing up to 100 people in worship beginning the first Sunday in May. More details about protocols and sign-up procedures will be included in next week’s issue of the Rose Window Weekly. We are also beginning to think about a plan to allow more groups to meet at the church, including the possibility of rotating Sunday School classes using only the larger rooms. We will provide more details ASAP. And many other decision-making groups are sorting through plans to ease back into various ministries.

It has been a long and arduous journey requiring flexibility and patience. The very best has come out in our church during this pandemic. Though we know that continued vigilance is required, the progress with vaccines has enabled us to get to the place where we believe we can begin to resume some activities safely, especially given the trust we have in our people to follow carefully devised guidelines. Our experience with three worship services at Fletcher Park on Easter was a watershed moment in that it was the first time we have gathered since the onset of COVID-19 and because it demonstrated our ability to implement and follow safety protocols. Both realities call for a shout of, “Alleluia!”

Please look for more information next week and thank-you for your patience, perseverance, encouragement, and support throughout this time of many unprecedented challenges! - Christopher C. F. Chapman
INTERACT VIRTUAL TOUR -
NEW DATE!

On Tuesday, April 27 from 6:30-7:30pm, Allison Strickland will be hosting an InterAct Virtual Courageous Voices Tour for our congregation. This is not a tour of the building, but instead a tour of InterAct's mission. Attendees will hear firsthand accounts told by counselors and survivors – true stories filled with hope and courage. It is important to know that you will not be asked for a financial contribution. InterAct will follow up with a brief phone call to each attendee within several days after the tour to request your feedback and answer any questions you may have. For the Zoom link, please RSVP by emailing Allison Strickland.
AAWC'S WEEKLY SCHEDULE

Each week, we post And Also With 'Cue's weekly schedule here in Rose Window Weekly as well as on our Facebook page to let you know our lunch schedule and if there will be outside events on the weekend for you to attend.

Come eat with us this week:

WAYS TO GIVE

There are several different ways in which you can continue to support the church financially during this time of social distancing. We know many people are facing their own financial challenges right now and have been very generous already, but a number of people have asked how they could support the church while we are unable to gather together physically. Wayne Hager has provided the following answers to this question.

• We continue to receive mail daily. Any gifts mailed to the church will be processed and deposited as soon as possible.
• We will continue to debit bank accounts through auto drafts as we have been instructed by donors.
• If you have set up a recurring donation through one of our electronic options, those donations will continue without interruption unless YOU make a change.
• If you wish to begin electronic giving, please go to this link where each of our options is explained.
• If you are considering a stock gift, please visit this link for instructions.

If you have any financial or giving-option questions, please email Wayne Hager.
CURRENT OFFICE PROCEDURES
DURING THE PANDEMIC

While the church office will remain closed to the public for the immediate future, we have someone in the office Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm to answer the phone and let people in for pre-approved activities. The staff and Church Council continue to monitor all realities related to COVID-19. In addition, we have formed a Risk Management Team (RMT) made up of John Baldwin, Sam Ewell, Ron Maness (chair), Alice Marshbanks, and Hollis Yelverton to help us make decisions. The RMT has developed a list of guidelines which can be found here. Any group wishing to schedule an in-person meeting or activity should contact Wayne Hager. We still encourage you to contact any of the ministers if you have a pressing need, using the following email links: Chris Chapman, Lynn Lingafelt, Leah Reed, and Michael Hood.
