As many of you know, Bishop Lattime has called for a suspension of worship services in churches throughout the Diocese for at least two weeks. This is in response to CDC warnings against ‘gatherings’ of more than 10.
Although our doors are closed temporarily, our prayers continue and we will continue our worship, though it will be undertaken in new ways during this time.
We are live-streaming our services on our Facebook page. Many of you have already been in the habit of tuning in to our Wednesday night Compline services, which we have been offering on our Facebook page for over a year. We are now adding to those services, and hope that you will join with us, as the worshiping community of St. Matthew’s!
The services we currently are offering on FB Live:
Noonday prayers, Monday through Friday at noon.
Wednesday evening Compline – 8:00pm
Wednesday evening Bedtime Stories – 8:30pm
Sunday morning worship – 10:30am
Our Sunday morning worship is going to be a joint-offering of St. Matthew’s, St. Jude’s in North Pole, and St. Mark’s in Nenana. We will rotate between the churches, and the services will be led by The Rev. Betty Glover, The Rev. Marilyn Duggar, and The Rev. John Holz. We will have a bit of music to enhance our worship, as well.
If you have a prayer request, would like to have Mother Betty prayer with you, or if there is some other way that we can be helpful, please call the church office (907-456-5235). Please know that the office continues to be open for normal business hours Monday - Friday from 9AM - 5PM with a lunch break from Noon to 1PM.
Several parishioners have asked how they can continue to give their offering to the church. We know these are difficult, unpredictable times for everyone, and we know that some of the fallout will be financial uncertainty. We continue to watch our expenses carefully, but our costs continue. We hope that if you are able, you will continue to send your offering in to the church – either through snail mail (1030 2
nd
Avenue, Fairbanks, 99701) or dropping it off in our secure mail box on 2
nd
Avenue, or by the on-line option below. And know that we remain grateful for your support of St. Matthew’s.
