Wow, 2020 was hands down the strangest year ever! Full of challenges and hardships that we will not soon forget. With that said, it was also a year of tremendous opportunity and personal growth. A year to recognize and appreciate the relationships that matter the most and to be thankful for the blessings in life, which we may not have realized or took for granted. A time to strengthen bonds with family and friends and to recognize the importance of their love and support. Definitely, a time to step out of our comfort zone and learn to connect and communicate differently. An opportunity to learn new and innovative ways to assist family, friends, clients, and our community.
Facing these challenges, the IAHU Legislative Committee planned and flawlessly executed our Virtual Day on the Hill event. The agenda was packed with great speakers, and we had very positive feedback from the over 100 attendees. Thank you to the IAHU and IAIFA members that attended and participated in both the Day on the Hill and the Law and Ethics course, which was presented by Rusty Rice earlier in the day. Rusty’s presentation on Business Ethics was informative and interactive. There was no snoozing through that 3-hour session. A special thank you to the Legislative Committee for the work involved in organizing the event and the additional logistics associated with virtual interaction. You rocked it, and we appreciate the extra effort required.
The IAHU Symposium Committee is working diligently to deliver the 2021 Annual Symposium. Due to current Covid numbers and restrictions on social gathering, we have opted for a virtual event. While not optimal, we want to provide an interesting, informative, and safe event for our membership. Please save the date of April 22nd for our symposium. It is shaping up to be another amazing experience.
In closing, I want to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to the IAHU board and to the IAHU membership for your commitment to the association and to your family, friends, clients, and community. No matter the challenges, you have stepped up to the plate to deliver in these unprecedented times.
