Due to the uncertainty of timing with the impacts of COVID-19,
the BLOCS Annual Gala typically held in May will now be postponed for November 2020.
To our Great Donors, Partner Schools, BLOCS Scholars and Friends:

Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you and your families as we deal with unprecedented times that the COVID-19 pandemic presents.

Due to the escalating cases of coronavirus globally and locally, we are following the guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and local public health officials as we continue to evaluate our plans and act in a timely and responsible way.

BLOCS office staff began teleworking this week to ensure the team’s health and safety. We will reassess the status on a week-by-week basis following the CDC’s recommendations and guidance. All in-person meetings have been changed to conference calls or virtual meetings.

To contact a BLOCS staff member, please call our main office at 484-704-2300. Follow the prompts and proceed to leave a message. Your communication will immediately be delivered to the team member you’re trying to reach, and they will contact you ASAP. Our staff is also available via e-mail.

During these times of great uncertainty, it is important that we do all we can to assist one another in our neighborhood and communities. Let us focus our efforts specifically on offering support and encouragement to the immunocompromised, the elderly, and anyone who is isolated or alone.

Our prayers are offered up for our local business partners and all other businesses that are struggling due to the necessary restrictions. We offer our sincerest gratitude and prayer for the thousands of medical workers who are risking their lives on the front lines of this pandemic. Please know that we are always here as a resource for any questions, needs and concerns you may have.

We share the prayer below with each of you:

Our Father, we trustingly pray to you, asking
that the coronavirus may do no more harm,
that the epidemic may be swiftly gotten under control,
and that you restore the health of those affected
and peace to the places where the virus has arrived.

Welcome into your kingdom
the people who have died from this illness,
and comfort their families.
Sustain and protect the healthcare personnel
who are fighting it and inspire and bless those working to control it.

Lord Jesus, doctor of our bodies and souls,
we feel impotent
in the face of this international health emergency,
but we trust in You.

Give us peace and health.
Mother Mary, protect us and continue to take care of us,
and lead us through your love to your Son, Jesus.
Amen

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we all navigate the unknown paths ahead. Take this time to be with your family, to read a good book, to laugh a little bit, to reach out and speak with a friend you haven’t seen in a while, and most importantly to help others. The strength of our country is each one of us and, as we have in the past, we will overcome this challenge and be stronger through the experiences learned.

You will continue to be in our daily prayers and thoughts

Blessings on behalf of the BLOCS Staff and Board of Directors,
