May is Community Action Month!
From the Community Action Partnership:
The purpose of the 2021 Community Action Month Toolkit is to provide resources to promote your Community Action Agency and to raise awareness of Community Action Month this May. We encourage you to share your stories throughout the entire year, but Community Action Month is a great way to showcase your successes in empowering struggling families. To those ends, this toolkit contains templates of social media posts, press releases, government proclamations, fundraising ideas, video production tips, and event and activity information that your agency can use to increase your visibility!

US Department of Labor Announces New Cybersecurity Guidance for Plan Sponsors, Plan Fiduciaries, Record-Keepers, Plan Participants
The U.S. Department of Labor has, for the first time, issued guidance to retirement plan sponsors, fiduciaries, record keepers, service providers and participants on cybersecurity issues. The guidance comes in three forms:
- Tips for Hiring a Service Provider
- Cybersecurity Program Best Practices
- Online Security Tips

2020 Census Results are in! Michigan’s population grew, loses one seat in Congress.
On April 26, the Census Bureau delivered the 2020 Census state population counts that will be used for apportionment. Michigan will have one fewer representative in Congress.
Michigan’s population was recorded at 10,077,331 in 2020, growing by 2% since the last count in 2010. The state added 193,691 residents. Over the next several months the U.S Census Bureau will continue to release results from the 2020 Census. Thank you to all that worked to ensure a complete count in Michigan!

MDHHS Notification for Grant - MI Active Communities - 2022
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) on the MI E-Grants system for the MIAC-2022-MI Active Communities - 2022.
All proposal responses with related materials must be submitted electronically using the MI E-Grants system located at http://egrams-mi.com/mdhhs. Agencies interested in applying for this Request for Proposal must first register both the agency and users and process a Project Director Request in http://egrams-mi.com/mdhhs and submit their proposal by 05/28/2021 at 15:00.
