Gifts of generosity and grace
You may give gifts, tithes, and offerings online below or mail in a check to Grace Community Christian Church.

Thank you for making space for Grace to be shared between, among, and beyond our walls. Your faithful tithes and offerings make a life changing difference.
--------------------------------------------------------------
We are a part of something BIGGER...than time, than ourselves, than darkness. We are a part of God's movement for wholeness as faithful stewards of God's limitless love.

Summer-time helps tap into the child-like delight within many of us, when we have a sense of space, time and opportunity to enjoy a slower pace and the wonder of discovering (or re-discovering) ways to simply have fun savoring time, tasty summer foods, and/or outdoor activities.

Paul, writing to the church in Galatia, encourages believers to claim the joy of being clothed with Christ. No longer separated by race, gender or station in life, we are all ONE in Christ Jesus!
What energy comes when we’re able to identify ourselves as heirs. This inheritance is far greater than a long-lost uncle’s estate, however. This inheritance is God’s promise to be with us and make us a blessing to all the families of the earth (Genesis 12:1-3).

Your financial gifts today are one way in which we are a blessing! We are “Joint heirs with Jesus, as we travel this sod.”  Let us share our tithes and gifts.

Offering prayer

Gracious God, thank you for bringing us into your one family. Thank you for claiming us as your children, and offering us such a remarkable inheritance. Receive this offering and help us put it to use to share the blessing you’ve poured out for the world. Accept our intention not only to give, but to live our lives as your beloveds, even as we pray in Christ Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

Opening Prayer

God, in the midst of difficulties and in times of delight, we turn to you. You have stood with your people by day and by night, in confident celebrations and in seasons of chaos and confusion. Thank you for your presence among us in this place. Breathe your Spirit over us once more, that in this time of worship, we might honor you, praise you, and offer you our gratitude for your steadfast love,
which will never let us go! Amen
Prayers of the People

Come, Lord God, and be with us in this hour, as we celebrate fathers, given and chosen, spiritual fathers and adopted fathers, and we lift up the fatherless and all who have found a heavenly father in you. Help us hear and know you, Lord God, in the quietness of this moment of worship and in the week to come.

Too often our cares and our worries keep us at a distance from you, our God. When we feel compelled to push everything to its limits,
especially you, Holy One, it is enough that your grace can slow us down.

When we stand naked and exposed
to the buffeting winds
of our doubts and questions.
it is enough, Healing Servant,
that you clothe us in your peace,
and put our minds at ease.

When we are entangled
in that legion of worries and fears
which consume our lives,
it is enough, Spirit of Silence,
that you untie the knots
and set us free.

It is more than enough, God in Community, Holy in One, that you are with us
even as we pray as Jesus has taught us, saying, Our Father . . .
Scripture
Psalm 42
1 As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. 2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God? 3 My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me continually, “Where is your God?”
4 These things I remember, as I pour out my soul: how I went with the throng and led them in procession to the house of God, with glad shouts and songs of thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. 5 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise him,
my help 6 and my God. My soul is cast down within me; therefore I remember you from the land of Jordan and of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. 7 Deep calls to deep at the thunder of your torrents; all your waves and your billows have gone over me. 8 By day the Lord
commands his steadfast love, and at night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life. 9 I say to God, my rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk about mournfully because the enemy oppresses me?” 10 As with a deadly wound in my body,
my adversaries taunt me, while they say to me continually, “Where is your God?” 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.

Join Global Ministries for a 5K for climate justice!

The theme for the Mission Dash 5K is climate justice. Creation care efforts by international partners evolve with each natural disaster and shift in weather patterns. Partners cope with the negative impacts of climate change by protecting and nurturing the natural world, preserving resources, and seeking to ensure food security.

You are encouraged to walk, roll, run, jog, or spiritually sprint wherever you are in the month of August!

We are discerning interest and capacity at Grace. Let us know if you're interested in participating or helping to organize a 5K in our community in August.
