DAHS VIRTUALLY HOSTS 61ST ANNUAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

Since 1960, the Dallastown Science and Engineering Fair has been an annual event. This year, the Fair was held virtually with 50 students projects in categories including biochemistry, engineering, environmental science, health and medicine, and physics.

Topics ranged from:
  • “The Effect of UV Wavelength on Seed Germination”
  • “Eco-Friendly Solutions to Increase Durability of Asphalt During Global Warming”
  • “The Effect of Diphenhydramine on the Heart Rate of Daphnia”
  • “Effect of String Displacement on Arrow Velocity”

Projects were judged by a team of scientists and industry experts in the respective categories. 

The Junior High Grand Champion was Namya Jindal for the “Water Filter – Fast, Cheap, & Effective” project.

The Senior High Reserve Grand Champion was Gabriel Warriner, for his project on “Comparison of a Spinning Ring to a Ring as a Projectile.” The Senior High Grand Champion was Rohan Panchwagh, for the project “How Does the Temperature of a Room Affect the Rate of Dispersion and Range of an Aerosolized Particle of Water?”

DAMS PRESENTS FREAKY FRIDAY THE MUSICAL
Dallastown Area Middle School is proud to present Disney's "Freaky Friday" The Musical.

When an uber-organized mother and her spontaneous teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right.

WEEKLY COVID-19 UPDATE
Currently Dallastown Area School District has 10 active cases within the District. This does not include the previous cases of which the individuals have recovered from COVID-19 and have returned to our buildings.

The District continues to work in collaboration with the PA Department of Health to conduct contact tracing investigations. As a result of these investigations, the District will notify those individuals who are considered close contacts and advise them to self-quarantine, accordingly.

DASD DAILY SCREENING TOOL
To allow guardians to quickly conduct daily health screenings, Health Services has developed a Daily Student Screening Tool to assist with symptom screenings and recommendations surrounding students returning to school.

If your student display's symptoms of COVID-19, please contact your primary health care provider and your student's school nurse.
