Thanks to EVERYONE who went above and beyond to make Metro East Web Academy's AM a welcoming and safe in-person event. Barbara Virgilio from Mt. Hood Hospice and Jennifer Dormandy of Medical Vocational Planning, LLC kept repeating “It feels so good to be with our chamber friends again”.

|
Safety protocols were closely followed at our first in-person AM since the COVID restrictions/guidelines were set in place. Have you had your vaccine? Do you wear a mask? Can you network 6’ away? Can you resist shaking hands? All of these are steps in the right direction for healthy Chamber events. Dr. Chris, Gresham Animal Hospital and Guy Edwards, Brainjar Media, give a thumbs up to healthy Chamber Events.

Feeling anxious? Spend 15-20 minutes of your day with your feet on the ground (dirt, not concrete) and notice how different you feel afterword. It’s like grounding an electrical system (because you are an electrical system!)

The Hawaiian Islands: Looking for a place to hike on Oahu? Makapu'u Tide Pools is great for more advanced hikers. Once you reach the bottom, there are natural pools perfect for swimming and a blow hole. Finally visit Lankikai Pillboxes for a short but more advanced hike up to old bunkers that overlook the breathtaking Lanikai beach.

A Grand Time in La Grande
Play Outside.
What’s grand about La Grande? The scenery, for starters. About midway between Pendleton and Baker City on Interstate 84, this friendly town is nestled between the majestic Blue and Wallowa Mountain ranges, along the ancestral home of the Nez Perce people. It’s also home to Eastern Oregon University and a vibrant arts and outdoors scene — yet tucked away so it still feels like a secret. Here’s how to explore La Grande in a weekend.
