Daily UPDATE

Daily Reflection:
Wednesday of Holy Week: April 8

As we prepare to begin the celebration of the Triduum: Holy Thursday, Good Friday, the Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday, I want to share with you the words of Pope Benedict XVI.

His words help us to be aware of not “what” we celebrate, but of “who” we celebrate:

God is Love – We have come to believe in God’s Love: in these words the Christian can express the fundamental decision of her/his life.

Being Christian is not the result of an ethical choice or a lofty idea, but the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and decisive direction.

Since God has first loved us, love is now no longer a mere command, it is the response to the gift of love with which God draws near to us.

In a world where the name of God is sometimes associated with vengeance or even a duty of hatred and violence, this message is both timely and significant.

We are lavished with God’s love, and we in turn must share this love with others.
God mysteriously and gratuitously offers us this love.

As we walk through the days of the Triduum, let us rejoice in the God who has loved us first!

Many of us make our contributions when we attend Mass each week. Our Parish still needs our weekly contributions even though we cannot attend Mass, so that we can continue providing services and ministering to you. Please consider giving online or mailing in your contributions. Thank you!
