Specialty Pharmacy changes

Ap plicable to: Mercy Care Complete Care, Mercy Care RBHA, Mercy Care Long Term Care and Mercy Care DD

Mercy Care is implementing changes to specialty pharmacy for Mercy Care's Medicaid lines of business.

Effective  February 3, 2020  , specialty Medications on the  Specialty Drug List   will need to be filled at CVS Specialty Pharmacy or St. Joseph’s McAuley Pharmacy. If the medication is being filled at CVS Specialty Pharmacy and nursing services are required, CVS Specialty Pharmacy will coordinate with Coram to provide nursing services for the member.

Mercy Care has already sent letters to impacted members and CVS Specialty Pharmacy will be contacting members to facilitate the specialty prescription transfer process.

Important note:  This change  only  impacts members who are filling their medications using their Mercy Care Medicaid plan coverage .
  • Dual eligible members who fill their medications using their Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan coverage provided either through Mercy Care Advantage or another Medicare health plan are not affected by this change.
  • Members that have other health insurance as primary are not affected by this change.
  • Members that are in a long term care facility or skilled nursing facility are not affected by this change.
  • Members that are filling specialty medications at a 340b/FQHC pharmacy are not affected by this change.

Additional information can also be found at the following links:
